Keith Barney, formerly of Eighteen Visions and Throwdown, among others, is now part of a new Orange County, California hardcore band called Monument to Thieves. The group also features David Richardson (As Hope Dies, Force Of Change) on vocals and Matt Horwitz (The Agony Scene, Adamantium) on drums.
The group has posted two newly recorded demo tracks on their MySpace page and will play their first show on October 26th at the Chain Reaction in Anaheim, CA.
The End Of 6000 Years will release a split CD (with a great band to be announced) and should be out in January. Also the band will hit the studio in the spring of 2006 to record a full-length album. You can hear some of their material on their MySpace page.
Meanwhile, we are gonna press As Hope Dies' last self-released CDep. Five brand new crashing songs recorded before the band broke up. As Hope Dies inspired a lot of new bands with their unique sound, a cross between Prayer For Cleansing, At The Gates, Undying and Shai Hulud. California's As Hope Dies have announced that they'll be calling it quits again, this time for good. The group originally broke up during the summer of 2003, then reformed last summer. Their final show will take place on May 23rd at the Showcase Theatre in Corona, CA with Dead To Fall.
Roughly one year after breaking up, Southern California metal/hardcore band As Hope Dies are apparently back together. The group has reportedly completed five new songs for an upcoming record, with three more in the works. According to the band, their new material is "very similar to the old stuff, just a lot faster, technical, and way more melodic." The group's first show back will be on October 8th at the Chain Reaction in Anaheim, CA with Coldwar and others.
