Occasionally I find myself in the nose bleed section of the cable listings, somewhere past TBS, USA, and TNT, but before the dreaded Country Music Channel. This week I was perusing the cable nose bleeds and came across the Biography episode of Tommy Lee. At first glance this didn’t sound that interesting, but I was quickly captured when I saw Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne as part of the documentary.
The interview portion begins with Tommy inside his famous home studio decorated complete with a Starbucks and cocktail lounge. Lee is quick to pull out his song “Good Times” for the crew to hear. From here, most of the interview is spent in his backyard, near a pond with gold fish. This is where we learn of the support his parents gave Tommy, to the point that his dad would create pyrotechnics by placing gun powder in pipes. Oh the father/son memories: fishing on a lake, throwing around the ball, and creating pipe bombs. As Tommy talks about his career with Motley and getting a break by touring with Ozzy the cameras continue to cut to blond star fuckers drooling over Lee. More...
MOTLEY CRUE singer Vince Neil has signed to Frontier Records for the release of his upcoming solo album, “Tattoos and Tequila,” due for release on June 4th in Europe. The album’s title track will be released as a digital download and will be available April 16th in Europe at all digital shops. The music video along with the single was made available for download earlier this year and can be seen below.
Vince Neil recorded the new album in the winter of 2009 together with his band, formed by bassist Dana Strum, guitarist Jeff Blando (both of Slaughter) and drummer Zoltan Chaney. The album will include two new songs: “Tattoos and Tequila” and “Another Bad Day,” both produced by Marti Frederiksen (Aerosmith, Ozzy Osbourne, Def Leppard etc), plus a selection of classic cuts from some of the rock giants that have influenced Vince Neil throughout his musical career. The cover songs were produced by Vince and Jack Blades (Damn Yankees, Night Ranger).
In a recent interview Vince Neil stated: “This album has nothing to do with Motley Crue, Tattoos and Tequila is basically my life” and definitely the new record shows a new, yet familiar side of Vince’s abilities.
The “Tattoos and Tequila” tracklisting will include:
Tattoos & Tequila (Album Version)
He's A Whore (Cheap Trick)
Nobody's Fault (Aerosmith)
Another Bad Day
No Feelings (Sex Pistols)
Long Cool Woman (The Hollies)
Another Piece Of Meat (The Scorpions)
Who Will Stop The Rain (Creedence Clearwater Revival)
Viva Las Vegas (Elvis Presley)
Bitch Is Back (Elton John)
Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers (ZZ Top) - bonus track available on first pressing in digipak

In Guns N Roses “Welcome to the Jungle” Axl is getting off a bus with a very large suitcase. In Whitesnake’s “Is This Love” video Tawny Kitaen packs four pieces of lingerie into a large suitcase. Anyone interested to know the contents (or what for fictional purposes is supposed to be contained in their luggage)?
