Last month, The Green River Burial announced its impending demise after a final album release. Now the band has issued this year-end update:
"As another year draws to its close it is time to reflect on all the various thoughts and attitudes that shaped our behaviour this year.
"It took some time for us planning regarding our musical future and today we are happy to announce we will stay together as musicians and continue being a band - NOT as TGRB but as something else you will hear from soon through this page. We are humbly looking forward into creating new art and are incredibly eager to pick up work on this new project of ours and give it our all.
"As we announced before, we will still release the album we've been working on over the past years as TGRB before this chapter ends. Said album is already completely written and we were in the process of recording it when one of us relapsed into a serious health condition which left us being in a total work standstill regarding the TGRB album. The Green River Burial just issued this announcement about breaking up following the release of a final album:
"We’re calling it quits. It has been pretty quiet from our side for some time now, but that doesn't mean there hasn't been much going on for us. After a long time of contemplation regarding the future of this band, we came to a decision that while being one of the hardest to make as a band feels like the right thing to do.
"It is with honor and gratitude that we today announce the end of the 8 year long history of this band and the adventure it has taken everybody involved with it on.
"All of us who stand under the banner of TGRB now - as well as the ones that were part of this
band for some time - have been shaped by the things we were allowed to experience. We want to thank every friend we made on the way and every partner that enabled us to create, express and release our music and travel the world playing it.
"Over the recent years we have formed a very solid and productive constellation that made writing and playing music the most rewarding and fun it has ever been for us. At the same time we have been experimenting a lot with our sound embracing the new possibilities that suddenly opened.
As a result we have written a full-length heavy album over the past year that shows the band’s full capability and probably the best material we have ever created. More...

"Therefore we as a band want to thank him for all the wonderful experiences we shared together. We wish him all the best for his future endeavors. We will always be brothers." More...
Germany's The Green River Burial just issued the following announcement about parting ways with the band's vocalist:
"It has become a little quiet around us for some time now and there is a reason for it. Sadly, we have to announce that TGRB and Mert will go separate ways as musicians.
"We still remain close friends and do not at all part for personal reasons. Rather we have just come to realize that, over the course of many years as a band, our musical focus and preferences have simply moved apart. A statement by Mert concerning this matter will be posted right here in a few days to fill you in on the details.
"So, what does the future hold for this band? First of all, we will not cancel any of the upcoming shows. Mert will continue to be our singer until we are able to present you the new person behind the mic. Secondly: Yes, we do search for a new singer and no, we don't have one yet. If you think you are the one for the job, hit us up with a message to this page. Include the following information and we’ll get back to you if we are interested:

The Green River Burial just issued this year-end message to fans online via Facebook:
"Hey everyone, we would like to conclude this year with a few words. We went through difficult times resulting in a lineup-change and it took us a lot of strength to carry on. Still, besides all struggle, we had the opportunity to play some of the best shows in the band’s history.
"We explored countries we never visited before with bands we never imagined we would be touring with. Therefore we are grateful for everyone that supported us on our journey in 2014 in any possible way.
"One step back follow two steps forward. We will have new music for you next year and we’re excited to share our material with you.
