Ash Avildsen, founder of Summer Slaughter, comments on this year's edition of the tour: “It's year seven and I think 2013's line-up is the most exciting and diverse yet. Slaughter has never been a one dimensional experience for fans. This year is a true testament to that as we have an amazing mix of extreme music's influential icons and leaders of the new school. Let the underground unite!"
Greg Puciato (Dillinger Escape Plan vocalist) states: “We can't wait to get back on the road! We're launching a US tour in the spring, hitting Europe for some festivals and club shows, and then hitting several more cities with Summer Slaughter all summer long. We are absolutely amped. After being holed up in the studio for such a long time giving birth to One of Us is the Killer, we are all pent up and ready to share material new and old with our supporters doing what we love to do the most. Can't wait to see and either kiss or rip off each and every one of your faces on the road with Summer Slaughter and year round, everywhere.”

Regardless of your stance on religion, you have to commend these bands for their drive. On July 1st, I was on hand to catch the first date of this 2011 tour. More...

Solid State Records, the former label home of progressive christian metalcore act Norma Jean, has announced details regarding the forthcoming Norma Jean 3CD boxset. The set, titled "Birds And Microscopes And Bottles Of Elixirs And Raw Steak And A Bunch Of Songs," features the band's three Solid State released albums "Bless The Martyr And Kiss The Child," "O God, The Aftermath" and "Redeemer" into a single release.
Norma Jean frontman Cory Brandan provided the following statement, seemingly in disapproval of the boxset, on twitter by saying: "Don’t buy any cd combo “deals”. Buy a new record instead. FSS!" He then followed up his statement with: "I wasn’t complaining about the 3CD thing btw. It’s perfectly normal for me/us to want fans to buy a new record that JUST freakin came out…And it’s dumb to release something that would possibly counter those sales. It’s isn’t rocket science. #duhhhhhhh!"
It's just a few more hours until the work day ends and the weekend finally arrives, and to celebrate those two glorious days there are a few new metal tracks to download through the Rock Band Network.
