Temples Festival Cancelled

Temples Festival - which was due to take place in early June and feature such outfits as Mayhem, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, and Carcass - has now officially been cancelled. This news arrives after several bands pulled out over the weekend, citing a lack of flight deposits, visas, and other pre-arrangements never being met. Festival organizer Francis Mace just posted this message online:

"After an arduous 48 hours of uncertainty, and with deepest reluctance we have been forced to cancel Temples Festival 2016. At the beginning of last week, the organisation we had onboard to finance the event pulled their funding, and with limited access to advance ticket sales and no sponsors to back us we have been unable to source the funding required to cover the overheads which would allow Temples Festival to go ahead.

"Following Temples 2015, we were left with a sizeable debt and as opposed to dissolving the company and declaring bankruptcy - I decided to take on the debts personally and subsequently pay off all our creditors in installments as quickly as possible, this meant bands, staff and contractors were all paid late - and it's had a crippling effect on both my professional and personal life as a whole - truth be told, I made a series of bad business decisions and dealt with the situation very poorly - which I take full accountability for.

"I've spent the past week trying to gain access to the funds we need to make this year work and avoid the problems we encountered following last year's event, with our financiers pulling their involvement - it's been an uphill battle, which I've fought to the best of my abilities - and unfortunately, have been defeated.

"Over the past weekend, I've been attempting to produce the festival's continuation on a 'scaled down' level so we can offer something for those of you who have purchased tickets, accommodation, transport etc and allow the bands who are touring, UK based etc - unfortunately this morning it became clear that even if we were to proceed as such, we'd be left with another huge debt and therefore unable to pay the bands, staff, venue, contractors and a number of other crucial overheads the festival relies on - thus repeating the mistakes that were made last year. Orange Goblin And Winterfylleth To Play Damnation

English stoner rock band Orange Goblin is the latest name to be added to the 10th anniversary Damnation Festival bill.

Orange Gobline will be joined by black metal quartet Winterfylleth and post-punk outfit October File, with both bands airing material from new albums at Leeds University Union on Saturday, November 1st.

The trio of new additions bolster an impressively eclectic line-up which already boasts Bolt Thrower's only U.K. appearance, a Cannibal Corpse headline set and St. Vitus performing "Born Too Late" in full.

Orange Goblin said: "Over the last few years, Damnation has cemented itself into one of the UK's leading metal festivals, so it is a great honour to be asked back to play for a second time.
"It is already a great line up of bands, and we can't wait to be part of it."

Winterfylleth added: "We are proud to announce we will be playing Damnation Festival once again in 2014. The response we had in 2012 was mind blowing and we hope to see you all there once again. Damnation is a festival we always attend as fans regardless of playing and a must for all serious metal fans. We have a new album out a few weeks before the festival, so will be playing some exclusive new material for the first time on the day.”

October File also comments: "We are over the moon to be playing what is becoming one of the most important and special events in the UK. Damnation has worked hard to forge a name that is a must for fans and underground talent."

The line-up for Damnation Festival so far includes: Bolt Thrower, Cannibal Corpse, Saint Vitus, Raging Speedhorn, Orange Goblin, Anaal Nathrakh, Ahab, Revocation, Solstafir, Winterfylleth, H A R K, October File, Bast, Atlantis and Corrupt Moral Altar, with many more bands to be announced across four stages. Corrupt Moral Altar Streaming "Whiskey Sierra"

Corrupt Moral Altar is streaming the new vinyl release "Whiskey Sierra" online. Check out the tracks in the player below, or pre-order the release via Dead Chemists Records. The following press release was also issued about the band:

"CMA are a grind/sludge band from Liverpool (UK) formed in 2012 from members of almost every UK band ever (Ex-Malevolent Creation, Ex-The Atrocity Exhibit, Iron Witch, Magpyes, Horse Bastard etc...)

"They released their demo last year which was followed by the 'Luciferian Deathcult' EP on Baitin' The Trap records, limited to 150 copies and sold out before the release date after numerous positive reviews and championing from the likes of Napalm Death. The new 7 Inch has 2 new tracks, and 2 remastered tracks from the 'Needle Drugs' demo.

"Mix grind and sludge, soak it in whiskey and bile and you'll be getting somewhere near Liverpool's Corrupt Moral Altar. Sounding part Iron Monkey, part Mistress and part pounding hangover, it's disgusting in the best possible way. They follow up last year's 'Needle Drugs' demo and the Baitin' The Trap EP, 'Luciferian Deathcult' with the new 7 inch 'Whiskey Sierra.' 2 new tracks, 2 remastered tracks from the demo and it quickly picks up where the last EP finished. Huge riffs and grooves, blasting drums and tortured shrieks, it's the perfect soundtrack to drinking yourself through misery, right into unconsciousness. "

The track listing is:

1. Whiskey Sierra
2. Lord
3. Politics Is A Bargain Between Beggars (Remastered)
4. You Don't Have To Go To Clown College (remastered) More...
