Lalu Working On New Album

French progressive metal keyboardist and composer, Vivien Lalu, is ecstatic to announce his new official sponsorship by Roland Keyboards. Having relied heavily on the brand for his entire career thus far, this new endorsement is a major breakthrough for the artist.

Stated Lalu on his union with the company: "After twenty years of using their keyboards I can now say that I'm proud to have joined the Roland family! I want to thank Roland Japan for the great welcome, and look forward to present you their amazing new products."

In September 2013, Sensory Records released Lalu's newest solo album, "Atomic Ark," which featured a lineup of vocalist Martin LeMar (Mekong Delta), bassist Mike LePond (SymphonyX), guitarist Simone Mularoni (DGM) and drummer Virgil Donati (PlanetX), in addition to countless guest contributions.

Lalu is currently immersed in the creation of new material for his full-length follow-up to "Atomic Ark" for Sensory Records, having already confirmed its title as "Orkeystra." The impending album will venture into new territory by featuring multiple singers in addition to Martin LeMar, who usually handles all vocals. New information on the next chapter in the Lalu lineage will be released throughout the rest of the year in preparation for its release in 2015.

Lalu Streaming Full New Album

"Atomic Ark," the newest solo album from French composer Vivien Lalu -- and first for progressive metal powerhouse, Sensory Records -- is out now. You can stream the full release in the player below, courtesy of Popmatters.com.

The opus was fully conceived and composed by Lalu, the musician having enlisted a lineup of vocalist Martin LeMar (Mekong Delta), bassist Mike LePond (SymphonyX), guitarist Simone Mularoni (DGM) and drummer Virgil Donati (PlanetX), in addition to countless guest contributions, to complete the album.

In addition to the release of his new masterwork, this week Vivien Lalu also announces that half of his royalties for "Atomic Ark" will be donated directly to Paris/NYC-based animal rescue organization Alerte Sos.

In a statement released via his Facebook page early today the French composer notes: "Just got back from my visit to Alerte Sos; It was a real pleasure to meet the president and her team. These people are so amazing... I am speechless at their dedication to the animal cause. You should know that in France, animals are sentenced if they don't find a family; the clock is always ticking. So I am very happy to announce that half of my Atomic Ark royalties will go to Alerte Sos and by buying this album you will help to save many animals from certain death. We can't save them all - but every little gesture helps! Some of these puppies are hurt and sick and need treatment but the veterinary fees are huge! Thanks for your support and I hope you enjoy being a part of something greater than just listening to music." More...

Lalu Announces "Atomic Ark" Release

Progressive metal linchpin Sensory Records is proud to announce the signing of Lalu, the project under the direction of French composer Vivien Lalu. The following press release was issued about the band:

"Born of Noelle and Michel Lalu, musicians from the ‘70s French progressive act Polene, Vivien Lalu has released a surplus of recordings through an array of different bands and projects since 1997, as the keyboard player for underground black/doom band Time For A Change. At the turn of the millennium Lalu played keys for two underground progressive metal bands from Paris, Sad Warden and then Mind's Orchard, and in 2002 was hired by Hubi Meisel (ex-Dreamscape vocalist) to compose and record the keys for his solo album EmOcean, the following year doing the same for Meisel’s sophomore album Kailash, both of which were released by Lion Music.

"It was at this time Vivien Lalu begins recruiting his own associates from major prog and metal bands -- some of which he shares time composing music alongside in progressive metal act Shadrane -- and forms his own solo project, LALU. The first full-length Oniric Metal was released on Lion Music in 2005 and began an entirely new chapter for this composer and his insatiable need to create mind-expanding, cinematic music.

"These accomplishments helped Lalu to begin securing score and soundtrack work for film and television; over the last few years he’s written many cues for the orchestral soundtrack for the Warner Bros movie Seuls Two, for the show Science X made in association with Lucasfilm Ltd. Additionally he joined the production team behind Laszlo Jones in order to assist the recordings and production of Banana Nation (Universal Music Group). He’s composed many soundtracks for French television, music and sound effects for Neko Entertainment, worked as a sound designer for Ubisoft Entertainment and much more. More...
