Progressive metal band EON, the brainchild of Lebanese guitarist Amadeus Awad (referred to by fans as the Lebanese Arjen Anthony Lucassen), is streaming the demo version of the track "The Book of Gates." The album was originally planned for release in February, but was delayed. The new release date has not yet been announced.
"The Book of Gates" features vocalists Russell Allen (Symphony X), Amanda Somerville (Trillium/Avantasia/Epica) and Elia Monsef, keyboardist Kevin Moore (ex-Dream Theater/OSI), drummer John Macaluso (Ark/Artlantica), bassist Dan Veall and Amadeus Awad on guitar.
Other guests slated to appear on the full length include Timo Tolkki (Avalon/ex-Stratovarius), among others.

Progressive metal band EON, the brainchild of Lebanese guitarist Amadeus Awad, announced that the debut release "The Book of Gates," will finally see release on February 13, 2014.

Lebanese guitarist/composer Amadeus Awad, dubbed the "Arjen Anthony Lucassen of the Middle East," has signed on with Melodic Revolution Records for the re-mastered release of his debut solo album "Time Of The Equinox." The album, originally self-released in January of 2012, will be reissued on June 18th and will be available as a CD and digital download (through iTunes).
Awad commented: "I am pleased and proud to share with you that I signed a deal with the beautiful people at Melodic Rock Revolution. The label will be releasing a new master of my album 'Time Of The Equinox' with a bonus track."
The bonus track referenced is the instrumental "Immortal Dunes." "Tales of the Equinox" features guest appearances by vocalist Mark Boals (Iron Mask/Ex-Yngwie Malmsteen), guitarist Timo Somers (Delain) and Liz Vandal (Uli Jon Roth). The complete track listing is:

Progressive metal band EON, the brainchild of Lebanese guitarist Amadeus Awad, posted a preview clip for the band's debut album "The Book Of Gates." The album is targeted for release this summer (exact date not announced). The preview clip features guest vocalists Russell Allen (Symphony X) and Amanda Sommerville (Trillium/Aina) playing the parts of "Pharoah" and "The Queen" in the conceptual debut.
Other guests to appear on the album include Timo Tolkki (Ex-Stratovarius/Avalon) and Kevin Moore (Ex-Dream Theater). More announcements are expected shortly.

Awad is a well known guitarist in Beirut after launching his solo career in 2010. In 2012, he received international recognition with the album "Time Of The Equinox," which featured Mark Boals (Ex-Yngwie Malmsteen/Iron Mask/Ex-Royal Hunt) on vocals.
"The Book of Gates" is the band’s first studio album under the new name EON. The conceptual release features new instrumentation and arrangements, unheard oriental elements and a list of guest musicians (with more to be announced), including:
Kevin Moore (Ex-Dream Theater/OSI)
Timo Tolki (Avalon/Ex-Stratovarius/Ex-Revolution Renaissance/Symfonia)
Amanda Somerville (Trillium/Avantasia/Aina/Epica/Kamelot) (as "The Queen")
