Hate FX Posts Lyric Video

Fresno-Livermore heavyweights HateFX, featuring Glen Alvelais (ex-Testament, Forbidden) have released the official lyric video for "Play it by Fear," a track off their new release "Under Destruction," which can be seen below. The single will be released on May 27th in North America. About the first single, the band states:

"'Play it By Fear' — is a metaphor for the fear that takes control when someone is being blackmailed/pressured into unwilling obedience to keep compromising information in disguise. Fear makes people enter this game of control, and it thrives on this power struggle that will eventually be revealed anyways." The band adds:

"When it came time to pick the first single, we had a really hard time. We put our blood and sweat into this work (there were no tears) and everyone had their favorite. But in the end, we agreed that 'Play it by Fear' was the best choice and represents what HateFX is all about."

Commented G (frontman): "We have been pleasantly surprised with the awesome response on the first run of shows of 'destrucTOUR' and can't wait to continue playing our new music to the masses. The band has the strongest lineup we've had and we are gaining more cohesiveness because of live shows... We have shared the stage with great bands and merch is flying off the table... It feels good to be expanding our horizons which is our goal."

HateFX is currently scheduled to continue playing live in support of this release, including Reno and its home turf of California (Lake Tahoe, Oakland, Chico, Gilroy and more). For more DestrucTOUR dates check the band's website.

HateFX Reveals Release Date For New Album

Fresno/Livermore metallers HateFX, featuring guitarist Glen Alvelais (ex-Forbidden, Testament), has revealed that brand new release, "Under Destruction" is set for a March 23rd North American release via xXx Music. "Under Destruction" will be available in two configurations: the Ultimate Limited Edition silver bullet shaped USB drive (mp3-wav format, lyrics and extras) and a standalone CD.

Frontman G comments: "We wanted to innovate as far as the format of our music release and got these special usb drives made with our logo engraved with open code so you get the album in 2 hi-fi formats as well as lyrics, artwork, pictures, and other extras, plus you can use the drive to carry other information as well since there’s additional free space on the USB drive. You can play the music right in your car if you have a USB input. Also we thought it was a portable/convenient format that allows to be carried easily, let’s say you get this on a show and it fits right in your pocket and you get bonus stuff.”

“Under Destruction” will include special guest appearances by Anton Reisenegger (Lockup/Criminal), Patrick Contreras (Master Violinist), Amandolyn Rostikus (Spirit Descending), on keys and Antonio Godoy (Music Machine) on some sequences. More...
