Nightrage Comments On "Vengeance Descending"

Nightrage has re-released the "Sweet Vengeance" and "Descent Into Chaos" albums together as a two CD set titled "Vengeance Descending." The set includes liner notes by Tomas Lindberg (At The Gates), Marios Iliopoulos, Fredrik Nordström, and Gus G. as well as new artwork by Gustavo Sazes. The set also features the song “Gallant Deeds,” which has lead vocals by Mikael Stanne of Dark Tranquillity.

Stanne comments: "A long time ago my friend Marios asked me to sing on one of his songs for the next Nightrage album. Being a fan of his work and Nightrage I of course agreed. The song was very different and very cool. So I was happy to do it. It didn't fit on the album though so this is the very first time you guys get to hear it. Hope you like it!"

Lindberg also stated: "When I listen to these albums again today – I still sense this honesty, this sincere dedication that these songs portray – it was easy for me to feel creative in this atmosphere and great fun, too. It’s one of my proudest moments when I sum up my career."

Nightrage Comments On Canceled Show

Greek metallers Nightrage have issued the following statement about canceling their previously scheduled live show in Tunisia:

"We regret to inform all of our fans in Sousse, Tunisia that the show has been canceled. The promoter of the show contacted the band today and just simply told us 'the show is off.' No further explanation has been given. Very strange given the number of attendees.

"Please report to the place of purchase for a refund on all pre sale tickets. Again we are very very sorry we could not make it there. We know that there were a lot of people coming to the gig and we really wanted to play for you all. Until next time."

English metallers Neverborne has checked in with the following update:

"We are excited to announce that we will be working with two guest musicians on our upcoming album. Antony Hämäläinen (Nightrage) will be providing guest vocals on the track 'Mechanical Ruin' while Henrik Danhage (ex-Evergrey, DeathDestruction) will be doing a guest solo on a track that's yet to be named.

"To be working with such talented musicians from bands that we admire and respect is really inspiring and we cant wait for you all to hear the final product. As of today we've completed preproduction on 10 of the final 12 tracks and are due to begin recording with Karl Groom of Thin Ice Studios on 19 July.

"Although we're still working on the album title, we can reveal the following track names... Forget To Live, Embers To Ashes, Mechanical Ruin, Confession and Beneath The Scars. The new album can be described as a natural progression of the Neverborne sound that defined our debut release, In Absence Of Fear with more focus on groove and melody

"We trust you will enjoy!

"That's all for now."

Nightrage Comments on Peter Steele

Greek melodic death metal outfit Nightrage has posted the following message on the band's website:

"Peter Steele/Type O Negative have always been a huge influence on me. Not really musically as more as they were emotionally.

"I remember buying Bloody Kisses on a vacation in America in 1992. It was like a new world opened up to me. I realized then that music was to show no limits. No compromise and no trends exist. Only what you really feel inside. I think Peter Steele was one of the only musicians I ever heard truly do this.

"To the rest of the band: We all feel for you. And we drink to all of you and the Wolf Moon.

"R.I.P. Peter"

Nightrage Checks In From The Road

Nightrage has checked in from their Greek tour with the following road report:

"After a couple of days on beautiful Crete, we flew back to the slightly colder mainland and headed straight for the small east coast town of Lamia. Even though the modest size of the city, it did indeed deliver!! We did a headlining show for a crazy audience that truly gave 1000% and proved Lamia to be the best gig thus far of the tour. For you who attended any of our shows during this tour, you will remember Marios' introduction of the rest of the band members. Being in Greece and all, we thought it suitable to use Greek names as a way to blend in more with the culture.

"The next show on the list was in Larisa, once again with Septicflesh as headliners and as usual on this tour, our Athens rocker friends in Lucky Funeral. For some reason, Anders had managed to totally screw up one of his basses but some nice fellas in a music store in Larisa kindly fixed it for free. More...

Nightrage Issues Road Report

Greek metallers Nightrage have checked in from the road with the following tour report:

"Hey people! Orestis Skotadi (Olof Morck :) ) here with a brand new tour blog from our Greek metal odyssey!

"We've had a few very lovely days here in sunny Greece, starting with our show in Agrinio; we started off the day with a drive through the Peleponnesian countryside, gazing in awe at the breathtaking scenery of the coastline of ancient Peleponnesos. Agrinio is a sleepy little town, and we were playing on a Sunday, but still we had our best show so far there, a big thanks to all the crazy metal heads of Agrinio coming over to rock out with us! Nightrage is without a doubt the first northern European metal band to play Agrinio, something we're proud of!

"Next up on the tour was Heraklion on sunny Crete, and we were greeted by 25 c, shining sun and the great Cretan locals, all doing their utmost to make our stay a lovely one! Show was really good, even though it was the last day of a three-day Greek holiday, and most Greeks were home curing their hangover :) We were staying at a lovely little hotel right next to the beach, so next day we got the chance to hang out on the beach, and feel of the warm sand and the slightly cool ice-blue Mediterranean on our feet! Something quite amazing, considering Sweden is till deep frozen and covered with snow. After that, we once more had an amazing drive, this time through the Cretan countryside, with it's rolling hills, snow-capped vast mountains and picturesque olive groves all making an unforgettable impression on us! Nightrage Posts Tour Blog

Greek metallers Nightrage have issued the following blog from their recent tour dates:

"Hey folks! Welcome to our tour diary, which will document our journey through ancient and fabled Greece, where Nightrage was born almost ten years ago! It's a great honour to once more set our feet here - we arrived yesterday, after some commotion at the airport, with our flight being canceled, but after some brief waiting we were on our way with a different plane, in business class too!

"A hearty continental breakfast and some great service was good preparation for our first show on the tour, which was played in the lovely coastal town of Patras, a very picturesque city with winding avenues, and an ancient and quite impressive Roman odeum. The venue was packed, and we shared the stage with no less than 5 other bands, one of them being our friends in Septicflesh - great crowd and great atmosphere, all in all a very nice opening show for this tour! It was also the smallest back stage room we ever squeezed ourselves into - but it was all good at the end of the day. More...
