InDread Cold was born in Poland in the beginning of 2002. However an idea of the band had come up already five years before that time, during recording session of Darzamat's second album "In The Opium of Black Veil". The idea was created by Rafal Flauros Góral (vocalist), known from such Polish bands as Darzamat and Mastiphal, and Damian Kowalski, who was Darzamat's guitar player at that time, and who is also leading his own project called Eclipse. They had both invited some other musicians for the collaboration, and the second guitarist was Krzysztof Michalak (also playing in Darzamat) and Damian Wolff on drums, also the drummer of Polish band called Chort.
The music is hard to classify by any of the existing genres. For the musicians the project is, in a sense, a springboard from their mother bands. InDread Cold's music, written by guitarists, deals with multi-dimensional, trance sounds made by various kinds of guitars effects. Also the drum and vocal parts are created with the help from the latest sound techniques. InDread Cold's music is both mystically dark and (post)modern.
In the summer of 2003 two new members joined the band: bassist Bartlomiej Krawczyk, who earlier worked as a session musician and Zbigniew Zaakh Malinowski, who is responsible for samplers and keyboards.

Polish band InDread Cold signed a contract for two albums with British BlackDoom Records ( www.blackdoom.com ). The label is founded by My Dying Bride’s members. They explain in their own words:
BlackDoom Records chose InDread Cold to be their 2nd signing on the depth of song structure and the feeling of truthfulness in the darkness that they were painting. We want bands that stand out as innovative and felt that InDread Cold are (as hard to describe as they are) stand among those clearly talented in the black arts that is needed to gain recognition by our label. Our philosophy is based on a belief unending in the quest for a darker world constructed through music, conjured in the deepest and most twisted minds metal has, InDread Cold sickness gives new life to this bastard idea.
