Enigmatic U.K. blackened death trio Abyssal will release the CD reissue of debut full-length "Denouement" on April 2nd via Poland's Hellthrasher Productions, with the vinyl edition coming in Autumn.
"Denouement” (limited to 1000 copies) can be pre-ordered at the label's webstore. Hellthrasher also comments:
"The album was primarily self-released by the band in January 2012 on hand-assembled CDs and digitally, getting great reception with its refreshing manifestation of dark, twisted death metal, reminiscent of Portal and Mitochondrion, yet unique in its own way. The entire material is available for streaming via Bandcamp." More...
Abyssal is currently streaming the full "Novit Enim Dominus Qui Sunt Eius" album online, which can be heard below, and the band comments:
"Abyssal is a mysterious three-piece from the U.K. that plays a twisted form of demented, ambient, dark and epic death metal. Early 2012 they self-released their crushing debut album 'Denouement.'
"Just over a month ago, on Jan 01, 2013 they unleashed their newest opus of death metal horror entitled 'Novit Enim Dominus Qui Sunt Eius.' Once again self-released by the band via hand-assembled CDs and digitally, 'Novit…' would inevitably make quite the impression with its uncanny atmosphere of utter death metal darkness, reminiscent of the vibe found within such entities as Mitochondrion, Portal, Antedilvuian, and Blut Aus Nord.
"Said impression would lead to a conspiracy between Abyssal and Profound Lore Records to release an official limited CD version of 'Novit…' which will be packaged in an exceptionally designed digipack with altered and slightly enhanced artwork (courtesy of Chimere Noire). This CD version of 'Novit…' will be limited to a one time pressing of 1000 units. It will have an official release date of April 2nd, but expect the CDs to be available to order via our website as soon as they land in our bunker (in which we project by early/mid-March)." More...
Hellthrasher Productions has issued the following announcement about reissuing the "Denouement" album by Abyssal in physical format:
"We are very excited to announce that we will be handling an official CD & LP reissue of Abyssal [UK] – 'Denouement' full-length. The band has recently released a follow-up album 'Novit enim Dominus qui sunt eius,' which also will be officially re-released through Profound Lore Records.
"Both albums are top-notch examples of atmospheric, technical black/death metal in the vein of Portal and Mitochondrion merged with a bit of Incantation, while still being refreshing and unique in their own way.
"They were primarily self-released by the band itself in a small homemade edition and now, thanks to Profound Lore and Hellthrasher, they will be available as official label releases. More information shortly! In the meantime, check the opening track below." More...
