Chicago’s USURPER have just been confirmed to appear at INFERNO METAL FESTIVAL NORWAY 2006. Taking place, as always, in Oslo between the 13th – 15th April 2006 at the Rockefeller Music Hall, USURPER join a list of heavyweights already announced including EMPEROR, CATHEDRAL, MARDUK, BOLTTHROWER, DISMEMBER, CARPATHIAN FOREST and WITCHCRAFT. For a complete lune-up list, go here.
USURPER’s JON NECROMANCER is already fired up even though their might be a slight problem with stage gear. On Inferno’s site it clearly states: ‘Sharp spikes and studs are not allowed and will be removed at the door!’
“Obviously, Usurper is incredibly psyched at the opportunity to play in Europe again, especially at a fest as killer as Inferno. The line-up looks incredible this year, and we are bringing a 75 minute set packed with new songs, as well as some "oldies" going back to the demo era that we haven't played live in over 10 years! Scandinavia has always been supportive of us, especially in the early years, and we intend to do our best to repay the favor!”
The whole event is now virtually sold out, although a few day tickets are still available on the website
Despite the festival organizers' announcement to the contrary, Norwegian black metallers CARPATHIAN FOREST will not perform at Poland's Metalmania 2006 festival. The touring activities with CARPATHIAN FOREST will start in the middle of April and last the rest of 2006", guitarist Tchort says.
The rest of the band's tour schedule and availability looks as follows: European campaign (April 14 - May 22), Australian campaign (end of May/early June), summer festival campaign (June-August), USA/South American/Mexican campaign (September), second European campaign, second (December).
As previously reported, Season of Mist has set a January 17, 2006 U.S. release date (one day earlier internationally) for CARPATHIAN FOREST's new album.

Sound Riot Records is very proud to announce the signing of Chain Collector.
The men behind Chain Collector are the singer Kjetil Nordhus (Green Carnation & Trail Of Tears), drummer Anders Kobro (Green Carnation, Carpathian Forest & In The Woods), guitarist Gøran Bomann (Carpathian Forest), guitarist Kjell Jacobsen and the additional musician Endre Kirkesola on bass/keyboards that have also played on Green Carnation previously. The band will enter at Dub Studio (used by Green Carnation, Blood Red Throne) to record the still untitled album; it will feature 10 or 11 songs. The debut is scheduled for a worldwide release in early 2005. This album has a lot to offer: a strong feeling for melodies combined with perfect musicality of high profile artists which the experience is quite wide, that is one thing the band take advantage of and put it into their music.
Fans of Green Carnation who long for the songs to be shorter and heavier, this is your dream come true.
