EyeHateGod, Louisiana’s purveyors of hardcore, blues-based, unrepentant, post-amplificated dirge, will head to Europe this Summer to further spread the audio message of discontent. The caravan of decadence and debauchery begins July 20th at Serengeti Festival 2012 in Stukenbrock, Germany and will pillage its way through 19 cities, leaving in its wake nothing but broken glass and hurt feelings.
Commented frontman Mike Williams of the latest rampage: “In this wonderful End-Time era of 2012, New Orleans’ only 'Brotherhood of the Pharmaceutical Probation System,' EyeHateGod, are once again hitting the rusted railroad tracks and unpaved interstates, hitchhiking their lonesome souls all the way across the seven seas to do even more psychological damage to the music industry, and put full blown reality and life's terrible immorality in all your faces...where it belongs.”

Just For Fun
Christwire, a satirical site mimicking ultra-conservative Christian news outlets such as the Christian Post, has posted a show report online for the recent 2012 edition of the Maryland Death Fest titled "Exposed: Satanic Black Necrometal Posing A Grave Danger To Our Children". Enjoy some excerpts from a "good Christian's" breakdown of the festival below:
For four days in May, over Memorial Day weekend, hordes of Devil worshiping, drug crazed evildoers descended upon the unsuspecting city of Baltimore to participate in a bacchanalia of promiscuous sex, drugs, Satanic music, vandalism, arson, and enough horrid perversions in the eyes of the Lord to fill a entire library full of St. Peter’s books. This celebration of death and all that is evil made no bones about it’s purpose, titling itself “Maryland DEATHFEST”!
In order to discretely blend in so as not to arouse suspicion and suffer gruesome tortures at the hands of these heathen barbarians I donned the obligatory uniform of these so called “Metalheads”; A black t-shirt with Satanic imagery and symbols, a pair of torn, filthy jeans and faux snakeskin cowboy boots. Not able to bring myself to blaspheme the Lord, I donned a Stryper shirt which had not been washed anytime in the last decade, an adequate compromise. My hair is washed and clean cut, so I donned a long hair wig that had been soaked in beer and rubbed into the dirt to complete my disguise.
Surrounding the festival grounds were two electrified hurricane fences topped with razor wire. The outer perimeter was ringed by a moat filled with pig’s blood swimming with venomous Nepalese Deathshead Adders, while the inner perimeter was patrolled by packs of rabid, black dire wolves and syphilitic pit bulls. The entrance was staffed primarily by Hell’s Angels motorcycle gang members armed with chains, zip guns and steel pipes who took every opportunity to inappropriately grope females and rough up the males, confiscating illegal drugs from would be entrants (which I witnessed them snorting behind the port-a-potties later that day).
After passing through the gauntlet of brutality at the entrance to the festival, I witnessed many ghastly sights that will haunt me for all the days of my life. I will attempt to adequately describe them here, but some of these monstrosities are so shocking and perverse that they should not even be written down, much less read by good Christian men and women (and most definitely not children!)More...

The long-running fathers of southern sludge metal EyeHateGod were filmed for an upcoming episode of HBO’s “Treme.” The show follows the recovery of New Orleans after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. Creators David Simon and Eric Overmyer strived to make a true-to-life portrait of the lives of people living close to the historic Treme (pronounced Tre-may) neighborhood in New Orleans. They decided to involve as many local actors and real locations as possible; including filming many musicians like Dr. John, rapper Juvenile, bounce artists Big Freedia and Katey Red, and brass bands Rebirth Brass Band, Hot 8 Brass Band, and the Dirty Dozen. “Treme” has produced two seasons and will premiere the third season, containing the episode with the metal band, this fall. The episode including EyeHateGod was filmed at Southport Hall on February 15th and is set in January 2008. More...
Eyehategod's entire set from their January 21, 2012 show at Sonar in Baltimore, Maryland has been posted online. Check it out below.
Metal Injection was in attendance at Eyehategod's New York City show at Club Europa on 12/4/2011 and captured live footage of the band performing a new track, "Medicine Noose." Check out the clip below.
Additional live videos from that evening featuring Eyehategod and the other acts Doomriders, Hull, and Knight Terror can be found at this location.
Following the sonic devastation of a performance at Fun Fun Fun Fest earlier this month, New Orleans' Eyehategod is set to head east this December for further audio decimation. The band will level Boston, Allentown, and Brooklyn beginning December 2nd.
Commented frontman Mike Williams on the next round of pummeling: "Following an amazing dark and cloudy show at Austin's Fun Fun Fun fest, America's drunkest sweethearts will set off on yet another East Coast exploration and research field trip into the age old tradition of self-abuse."
Dates are as follows:
12/02/2011 Wonderland Ballroom (Formerly Club Lido) - Boston, MA
12/03/2011 Jimmy's - Allentown, PA
12/04/2011 Europa - Brooklyn, NY w/ Doomriders, Hull, Knight Terror
01/21/2012 Sonar - Baltimore, MD w/ Integrity 9 (A389 Anniversary Show)
05/24/2012 Maryland Deathfest @ Sonar - Baltimore, MD
Eyehategod unleashed its live DVD earlier this year via MVD. The 88-minute production features multi-camera footage from 2009 (Baltimore, MD) and 2010 (Cleveland, OH), with bonus clips from the last show of the band's 2010 European tour and videos never before released before on DVD.
November 5th, 2011—Day two of Fun Fun Fun Fest exemplified Texas’ extreme weather conditions. Rare rains are great for picnics, but eventually raise havoc on the land. The hottest summer in the recorded history of the United States revealed an Auditorium Shores that resembled a Western ghost town rather than the green knolls of a public park.
Dust masks and bandanas veiled the features of the day’s attendees, giving the festival an appearance part Old West and part zombie-virus film. Those in attendance deserve credit for braving such abhorrent conditions. Weather conditions are beyond the control of Fun Fun Fun’s staff, although I can’t help but think something could have been done to curb the dust problem. No matter who was to blame for Friday’s short Misfit’s set, no controversies marred Saturday’s festivities.
A death metal bludgeoning assaulted my ears upon entering the venue. I asked myself, “Why would a comedy stage play host to a death/grind band?” I peeked around the corner to see this group was Captured By Robots. The one-man-several-robots group was part Mystery Science Theater 3K and part Gwar. Eyeballs and intestines protruded from front man JBOT, who carried on silly conversations with jean-jacket clad, double-necked guitar playing robot GTRBOT666. An ensemble of a disembodied, dreadlocked drummer, DRMBOT 0110 with a macabre brass section and “Monkey Shines” percussion kicked out a hilarious mix of punk, metal, grind, Dubstep and pop covers. Two of the more memorable songs include Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing” and Buster Poindexter’s “Hot Hot Hot.” More...
Metal Underground.com caught up with Jimmy Bower backstage at Fun Fun Fun Fest 2011. The Eyehategod guitarist and Down drummer updated us on his two bands' upcoming albums and tours.
"Yeah, we’re almost done," answers Bower on the topic of the new Eyehategod album. "We’ve pretty much have gotten it written. We’re just trying to practice it and get it tight. We’re hoping for the first of the year (for release). Basically, we just have to record it. Brian [Patton] lives in Maryland, now, so that makes it a little tougher. Mike [Williams] lives across the lake."
Bower addresses new song titles, "We played one song tonight, 'New Orleans is the New Vietnam.' There is a (new) song called 'Medicine Noose,"
Bower will join Down on tour and will see the release of the group's new EP in 2011. Bower elaborates, "We just finished our first EP out of four. That should be out in February or March." Bower did not attach any profound concepts to releasing four EPs: "It’s just an idea that we had."
The forthcoming Eyehategod album follows the group's 2004 EP "99 Miles of Bad Roads." The Fun Fun Fest performance was part of a mini-tour through New Orleans and Texas. The upcoming Down EP follows the group's 2007 full-length effort, "III-Over the Under."
Texas thrash ensemble Dead Horse has been added to Fun Fun Fun Fest on the weekend of November 4th-6th 2011. The reunited thrashers will play on the Black Stage at 3:50 on Saturday, November 5th. Dead Horse will join titanic metal forces Slayer, Cannibal Corpse and Eyehategod.
After nearly fifteen years of inactivity, Dead Horse reunited to play a Houston show on October 22nd.
To celebrate the return of Dead Horse, Abyss Records has reissued their long out-of-print "Boil(ing)" LP.
Fun Fun Fun Fest and Pitchfork announced today that the 6th annual festival in Austin, Texas will be streaming live on Pitchfork.com November 4 6, 2011. This will be the first time ever that the music of Fun Fun Fun Fest, one of the most progressive independent music festivals in the country, will be available to those outside of Austin, and live.
Unlike other music festivals with similar live streams, Fun Fun Fun Fest will present 4 separate streams with each tailored to different musical tastes, streamed live on one of the most widely read music websites in the world that reaches 3.3 million unique visitors each month. Like the Fun Fun Fun Fest stage setups, each stream will provide a different musical experience, from punk and metal to indie rock and electronica, from bounce and hip hop to competitions and comedy. Fans will be able to toggle the streams to cater to their favorite styles of music, thanks to smart, the quirky, irreverent car.
When asked about the new partnership, Pitchfork had this to say: "Fun Fun Fun Fest has absolutely become one of the great festivals in the country, one that shares the same spirit of adventurous booking and music- and fan-community focus that we bring to our own Pitchfork Music Festival and our other events," said Pitchfork President Chris Kaskie. "Pitchfork has produced a number of live streams in recent years, and we're thrilled to be producing the Fun Fun Fun Fest live stream this year, for the first time bringing the festival to music fans outside of Austin."
Pitchfork Fun Fun Fun Fest Live Stream Schedule:
Friday, Nov 4th at 12:20pm Central
Saturday, Nov 5th at 12:10pm Central
Sunday, Nov 6th at 12:15pm Central
To check out the Fun Fun Fun Fest live stream on Pitchfork, go to www.pitchfork.com.
"We are thrilled to be working with Pitchfork and smart on bringing what we do every year to more underground and progressive music fans around the world. Pitchfork and Transmission have always focused on many of the same acts, ideas, and trends they are a like-minded group of people and it's exciting to see us working together in such an innovative way. Plus, we get to bring a little more Slayer and Turquoise Jeep to the PF pages, which is nice," said Transmission Principal James Moody.
FUN FUN FUN Fest has announced the final lineup and set times for its sixth annual music festival, set for November 4-6 at Austin, TX's Auditorium Shores. The festival organizers have also announced the "FFF Nites" aftershow lineup, which will see a host of late night shows available free to FFFF 6 ticket holders (each based on capacity and type of ticket). The Fun Fun Fun Festival will begin on Friday, November 4 at noon CDT with the fest's multiple stages running until 9:45 pm each evening through the weekend. Each of the festival's four stages will be billed with artists from various genres.
In addition to Orange Stage headliner Slayer (moved from the "Black Stage" to accommodate a bigger stage show), FFFFest has ramped up its "Black Stage" heavy music platform again this year as genre giants The Damned, Murder City Devils, Cannibal Corpse, EyeHateGod, Boris, Russian Circles and Glenn Danzig -- performing Misfits songs with original Misfits guitarist Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein under the moniker "Danzig Legacy" -- and many more will light up the festivals darkest stage over the course of the three day event.
