Joel Grind Reveals CD Release For Solo Album

Hells Headbangers has announced May 28th as the international release date for the CD version of Joel Grind's "The Yellowgoat Sessions" debut. The release has already been available for streaming online via Bandcamp and can be heard below. The following press release was also issued:

"The solo project of the Toxic Holocaust founder/frontman, Joel Grind's 'The Yellowgoat Sessions' bears many similarities to the early days of Toxic Holocaust - especially the Critical Mass demo - but goes down a darker, dirtier, decidedly more primitive route. The (toxic) result is 10 tracks of raw and fuzzed-out rock 'n' roll / metal / punk in the vein of the first Bathory album and early Motorhead."

Says Joel Grind, "If you are looking for over-produced shit that passes as 'metal' today, this is NOT for you!" The track listing is as follows:

1. Ascension
2. Hell's Master of Hell
3. Vengeance Spell
4. Foul Spirit Within
5. Cross Damnation
6. Grave Encounters
7. Black Order
8. The Eternal One
9. Hail to Cruelty
10. Descension More...

Joel Grind Releases "The YELLOWGOAT Sessions"

Joel Grind’s "The YELLOWGOAT Sessions" full-length is now available on iTunes, Bandcamp, and Nimbits with Spotify, Amazon, MOG, and more soon to follow. You can now stream the release in the player below.

Recorded as a Toxic Holocaust return-to-form of sorts (think the Critical Mass demo), "The YELLOWGOAT Sessions" features 10- tracks of raw, abrasive fuzzed out rock/metal/punk a la early Bathory and Motörhead. Comments Grind: “If you are looking for over produced shit that passes as Metal today this is NOT for you.”

Like first single "Cross Damnation," the album is now available as a "name your own price" release right here with a suggested donation of $5 allowing fans to pay whatever they feel like paying… or pay nothing at all.

Grind elaborates: “Making a recording is far from free; your donation of any size goes toward supporting an independent artist and allows projects like this to continue. In my opinion, music being released direct from the artist to the fan with no middle men is the future. With your support of this project as well as similar ones from other artists, I think we can make a serious change in the way the music ‘biz’ is run.” More...

Joel Grind Streaming New Track

Gristle up your holiday caroling with “Cross Damnation," the first single from Joel Grind's "The Yellowgoat Sessions" offering. Recorded as a Toxic Holocaust return-to-form of sorts (think the "Critical Mass" demo), "The Yellowgoat Sessions" are raw, unrefined, reverbed out, distorted to hell and violently delicious.

Comments Joel Grind of the release: “I decided to not call this a Toxic Holocaust record for a few reasons. The main one being that Toxic has sort of morphed from being a solo project to now being a full band. That's not saying you won’t see other ‘solo’ Toxic material, but for right now it's definitely a solid band. Also, this record is definitely less thrash and more dirty rock ‘n’ roll. Finally, I didn't want to just slap the Toxic name on it to sell it. I recorded this because I was anxious to record something like this again without over thinking things.”

The track “Cross Damnation" is currently available as a free download with the optional suggested donation of $1.00 via Bandcamp here. The full album will be released digitally January 15th, 2013 with vinyl to follow in late February via Acid Rat Records. You can preview the album at YouTube here. More...
