Fit For A King has issued this statement online about performing live in Paris following the deadly attack at an Eagles Of Death Metal show:
"We played Paris last night. We didn't expect anybody to come. We even debated on whether we should go. All of this because of the horrible attacks at a show just like this, that took place 13 days prior.
"The tour went on, and the people of Paris, though not as many as projected before the attacks, rallied together to face our fears with us. And together, we had a night that will never be forgotten.
"We will not be slaves to fear. Thank you for last night, Paris." More...

Tyler, TX metal act Fit For A King is pleased to debut a new video for “Keep Me Alive” today via Altpress.com. Give it a view in the player below.
The song is a brand-new track off of the upcoming release of "Descendants" - a re-recorded version of Fit For A King's 2011 debut album - set to drop November 25th on Solid State Records.
“We are really excited to show the world our new song and couldn't be happier that we get to do that in the form of a music video,” says vocalist Ryan Kirby. “We really feel like [director] Ryan Valdez captured the emotion behind the lyrics and that it definitely adds to the listening experience.” More...
2013 has been a big year for Tyler, TX metallers Fit For A King. The band released Solid State Records debut "Creation/Destruction" in March, and only 8 months later the group has another treat for longtime fans: a completely re-recorded version of 2011’s "Descendants" - the very release that caused Solid State to take notice of the band in the first place.
“When we tracked Descendants originally we were a local band with an extremely limited budget and the songs just didn't turn out exactly how we wanted them to,” says vocalist Ryan Kirby. “So with this re-release we set out, with the help of Solid State, to completely re-do Descendants, exactly the way we envisioned it. For old fans we believe the adjustments we made and the production quality will make it like a new release. For new listeners it will help them hear the progression we made from Descendants to Creation/Destruction. Plus adding a new song to the mix never hurts!”
The completely overhauled release features guest appearances by Memphis May Fire's Matty Mullins and Ivoryline's Jeremy Gray but, along with a brand-new track entitled “Keep Me Alive.”
Pre-orders for the impending re-release can be found at the Solid State Records website here.

For Fit For A King and the band's fans, months of anticipation are about to pay off. The Texas act has spent recent weeks unveiling new music via outlets as diverse as Alternative Press, Noisecreep, and Absolute Punk.
Now, less than a week before the release of its Solid State Records debut, "Creation/Destruction" - in stores and online March 12th - the band is dropping another ferocious new track, “The Lioness,” as a final preview via Revolver. Listen to “The Lioness” now right here.
“The song tells the story of a man who sells his soul to Satan in exchange for happiness, but finds out that in doing so, he only finds death,” vocalist Ryan Kirby explains to Revolver. “I came up with the concept because the desire for material things and temporary happiness was something I have personally struggled with a lot. And this song serves as a reminder for me of the fate that awaits me if I fall into that lifestyle.”

Two weeks ago, Fit For A King announced a March 12th release date for the band's Solid State Records debut, "Creation/Destruction." The band is now pleased to share a new song from the album titled “Hollow King (Sound of the End)." Head over to Noisecreep.com here to check out the song.
"’Hollow King’ is a very unique track for me, lyrically,” explains vocalist Ryan Kirby. “It's a story of a person that sees his friend slip into the Devil’s grasp because of the ‘God-free’ view he instilled upon him. The person then decides to go after and save his friend, which he does without faith that God can remedy the situation. During his mission to save his friend, he also falls into the Devil’s clutches. Near the middle of the song, Satan is mocking his lack of faith. The friend in the story ends up actually being himself, hence the lyrics ‘staring face to face and eye to eye with the man who abandoned everything’. This song doesn't have a happy ending, giving it a dark vibe.”
The album was recorded with producer Andreas Magnusson and follows several years of relentless DIY touring and an independently released album (2011’s "Descendents"). More...
Fit For A King has spent much of the last year on tours crisscrossing the U.S. and setting the stage for a release through new label Solid State Records. Now, the band is excited to announce a March 12th release date for the album, a pummeling effort entitled "Creation/Destruction," which was recorded with producer Andreas Magnusson (Haste the Day, The Black Dahlia Murder).
To further whet the appetites of fans, the Tyler, TX-based band is premiering the first track from "Creation/Destruction," the crushing track “Warpath,” right now exclusively through Altpress.com here.
“We felt like ‘Warpath’ showed all the different elements this album has to offer,” says vocalist Ryan Kirby. “When the song was originally written we had no intentions of it being a ‘single’ but once we played with the structure and added vocals it instantly became one of our favorites. Plus, we used a clip of the song in the first studio update we put out and got a very good response!”
