These Arms Are Snakes Breaks Up

These Arms Are Snakes recently announced that they have disbanding after nearly seven years together. The band has issued the following update regarding the matter:

"It's with a heavy heart we tell you that These Arms Are Snakes is no more. It's been a great run and we'd like to send out a very hearty 'Thank You' to everyone that we've worked with or anyone that we've toured with; anyone that lent us a floor, towed our van and/or trailer, lent a van, given us a listen, downloaded our records prior to their coming out, bought our shit, or asked us where our band name came from (Hey, writers, a simple google search prior to the interview goes pretty far. No joke. You should try it.); everyone who cooked us food, made habanero-infused tequila, had a safety meeting with us, let Steve gyrate all over you, had to live with any of us, made us pay shitloads of money to get off your punk label, got us into LOST, found Steve drunkenly wandering the streets of Tokyo alone, played Madlibs in the van (plural nouns), lost money promoting one of our shows, took Chris to the hospital, put up with our drunken sorry asses, got into a fight with us, etc. etc…

"This band could not have been possible without all of you. We sincerely thank you."

"Much love,
TAAS 2002 - 2009"

Trap Them Readies New Album

Trap Them is readying their new album, "Seizures In Barren Praise," for a November 11 release. Vinyl will follow shortly thereafter.

Once again engineered by Kurt Ballou at Godcity Studios, "Seizures In Barren Praise" shows Trap Them at their most vicious.

"Barren Praise" is a fictional ghost town version of every non-fiction town" says McKenney. "Lyrically, previous Trap Them releases are all stories from people who had lived in "Barren Praise" before deciding to up and leave. This is the story of those who stayed behind to tell the stories of watching everything unfold..." states McKenney.

The band is currently rounding out the final dates for an extensive east coast tour of the U.S. and Canada and has announced a record release show and European tour dates as well. The latest Trap Them tour dates are as follows: More...

Pelican Gives Update On Releases, Tour Dates, More

Pelican has a bunch of touring, split releases and more video goodness upcoming. Here's an update from the band:

"So, folks, it has been quite awhile since a proper update on what's going on. We've been mostly taking Summer off, which is why there's been little to report. But we are revving into full gear for the Fall, so it's time to let you in on what's up our collective sleeves.

"First up to deck is our upcoming European tour with our trusted and talented labelmates Torche. Their new record 'Meanderthal' has been the soundtrack for the summer, and if their opening stint for Boris in Chicago was any indication folks had better ready to be pummeled with a combination of melody and pure heaviness. The tour begins September 12th and runs through October 12th. We will be hitting tons of places we've been before, but also a bunch of places we haven't. See our upcoming shows sections for more info. More...
