Call Of The Void Posts Album Trailer
Colorado hardcore/punk/powerviolence perpetrators Call of the Void have pounded out a furious ten song record fittingly titled "Dragged Down A Dead End Path." A teaser trailer for the album can be found below, and the following press release was issued about the album:
"Blasting forth a low-end assault of dissonant chords and broken harmonies, Dragged Down A Dead End Path truly lives up to its name, beating listeners into submission with a 25+ minute sonic slaughterfest. Formerly known as Ironhorse, Call of the Void’s crust and grind elements seamlessly merge to conjure visions of grind godfathers Pig Destroyer while effortlessly treading the abrasive, caustic nature of Converge’s hybrid progressive hardcore and Mastodon’s technical metal-tinged rock mastery.
"Recorded at the Boar’s Nest in Salt Lake City, Utah by Andy Patterson, mastered by Chris Mcnaughton with the strikingly dismal cover art of Anthony Lucero, Dragged Down A Dead End Path will see digital, CD and LP North American release on March 19th, preceded by European release dates of March 15th in Germany, Benelux and Finland, and March 18th in the UK and all other territories." J.R. Hayes Hosts Relapse Podcast
Relapse Records is closing out 2012 with a special podcast curated by J.R. Hayes of Pig Destroyer. Mr. Hayes has picked 20 of his favorite tracks from the Relapse catalog in addition to answering an in-depth interview about the band's new album "Book Burner."
Later in the podcast there is a preview of 2013 featuring new music from Red Fang, Blockheads, Call of the Void, and Wolvserpent. Download the podcast at this location.
Pig Destroyer released fifth studio album "Book Burner" (reviewed here) this past October on Relapse Records.
The deluxe editions each contain a bonus disc of punk covers and a short story, titled The Atheist, penned by frontman JR Hayes. The Atheist is a post-apocalyptic tale about a decaying world taken over by the violence of religion that showcases the renowned lyricists' unsurpassed style for the first time as prose. The deluxe 2xLP also contains an etched b-side featuring artwork by Wormrot frontman Arif Rot.
The full "Book Burner" album can be heard in its entirety on Pig Destroyer's Bandcamp page here.

"We are saddened to have to change our name, but it is best that it happened now and not after our albums were pressed... Ironhorse is now 'Call Of The Void.' Please go add us on our new page right here."
You can also download a new track from Call of the Void, titled "Failure," through the Relapse Records 2012 sampler available here.
