Metal Blade Releasing "Metal Massacre 14"

In 1982, Metal Blade Records put out its first release: "Metal Massacre," a compilation album that included Metallica, Ratt, and many other influential artists. Now, Metal Blade will be releasing "Metal Massacre 14" on April 8th - and continuing the legacy of the first album - the CD/LP/digital formats will once again contain a sampling of contemporary heavy metal.

"'Metal Massacre' is an institution that has been dormant for far too long. It served as a vital first step for many bands who are far too numerous to mention back in the early 80s. For fans, it was often the first time engaging with many of these acts, some of whom went on to become household names-- some of course didn't, but the rough and ready underground character of 'Metal Massacre' is what set it apart from other compilations back in the day. Corsair Posts Video Trailer

US-based prog rock/metal outfit Corsair has released a trailer video for its upcoming Shadow Kingdom Records release "One Eyed Horse." Check it out below. "One Eyed Horse" is scheduled for a January 2015 release. The video documents the brief but diligent sessions at the White Star Sound studio, located on a beautiful rural farm in central Virginia.

It serves as a window into the making of the album with in-studio footage coupled at times with raw audio of the basic tracks straight from the board. Artfully done by Corsair's friend and colleague Matthew Gatto, it's a short glimpse designed to drum up interest and promote the album preceding its release.

Corsair is a heavy, dual guitar driven band based out of Charlottesville, VA. They have been active since 2008 with two EPs, one full length and the upcoming full-length "One Eyed Horse." This past year has been particularly busy with studio time in December '13 and January '14, a European tour February through March, and the late spring/summer spent mixing and mastering the new one.

Corsair Debut EP Reissued

Another album reissue from Corsair, "Alpha Centauri," is scheduled for release through Shadow Kingdom Records on July 8th. Quietly arriving onto the scene in 2010, "Alpha Centauri" is Corsair's first EP and constitutes the foundation of this metal/rock band. Heavily rooted in the sounds of classic 70's rock and metal, the EP has splashes of just about every 70's band you can imagine, from Kiss, Led Zeppelin, and David Bowie to Black Sabbath.

Born out of the hot embers of Charlottesville, VA's Black Sabbath annual tribute band Mass Sabbath, Corsair formed in early 2008 with the purpose of writing progressive rock that would transcend space and time. Having endured the intensive training of of Mass Sabbath and most recently, Spinal Tap, Corsair has emerged with calloused fingers and a united, unbending will to unleash new found guitharmony powers onto the world of rock.
