Steve Rowe of Christian metal band Mortification has issued the following update about releasing a 20th anniversary album:
"I have had the opportunity this month to work with Warren Hammond at Penny Drop Studio mixing the Re-Recorded Mortification Classics for our upcoming 20th Anniversary CD 'Twenty Years In The Underground'. The result is very pleasing. We referenced some more modern Death Metal like Amon Amarth to find an up-to-date approach to our Old School Death Metal songs, especially Nocturnal, Grind Planetarium and Impulsation. Hammer Of God and The Majestic Infiltration Of Order (God Rulz) have also been Re-Recorded. Initially I was hesitant to Re-Record what was not broken but the end result sounds killer! The early songs obviously lend themselves well to the the more Brutal Death Metal vocal and Production. I think the Old School Mort fans will be stoked. But you will all need to wait until early next year. The 15 rare Live Tracks are yet to be added to the mix.
"The 20th Anniversary Album will initially be available for pay download in early February next year, hopefully along with The Jesus Rock Band. December/January is make or break time for Rowe Productions. Not only with the 2 planned releases but it is also the time in which I have to pay very high fees to my Accountant. At this stage we do not even have the finances to pay for The Mortification 20th Anniversary mix. But I am hoping we can cover that soon and move on to the next process with these projects."
Australian Christian death metal band Mortification has issued the following update about completing work on their new album:
"Firstly, thank you to all our supporters who sent mails and were praying for our State of Victoria here in Australia during the recent wave of bushfires. The fires are now under control. We are safe here in the city but the fires came close. Currently 5000 Victorians who have either lost their homes or were evacuated are in camps around the state. So far the death toll looks as high as 300 and thousands have lost their homes. It is the worst disaster in this State's history. So far within Australia over 100 Million Dollars has been raised from donations to help those directly affected by the fires that raged through the hottest week in Victorian State History. Please keep praying for those who have lost everything including entire families dead.
"Onto brighter news… This month we finalise the Mortification Recording of the new Studio Album "the evil addiction destroying machine". The Album is sounding Intense and Ripping! Well pleased with three years of hard work now coming to completion with "the evil addiction destroying machine.' More...
Steve Rowe of Australian metal act Mortification has checked in with the following update:
"Hi everyone out there.
"I guess most of you are in winter right now, but here in Australia we are in the middle of a summer heat wave. It is currently the hotest week in 100 years here in Melbourne, so we are struggling with all the bushfire problems once again. I am glad that we live in the suburbs but even a house 2 minutes from here was burned down from out of control grass fires last week. Scary!
"In Mortification recording news, all the bass and vocal parts have been completed. Drums, guitars and mix will be completed next month. The new Mortification album will be called The Evil Addiction Destroying Machine. Look out for an initial release through us here at Rowe Productions in June. CDs will be available from Rowe Productions through the soundmass.com webstore. More...

Australia-based Christian death metallers MORTIFICATION have scheduled two shows in their home country prior to the band's European tour:
Sep. 29 - Black Stump Festival - Appin, NSW
Oct. 05 - Pelly Bar/Pier Hotel - Frankston, VIC (with SCOURGED FLESH, FEARSCAPE, GRAVE FORSAKEN)
MORTIFICATION recently announced the track listing for its upcoming CD, "Live Humanitarian", which is now available from the Soundmass.com store. According to the band, "This CD will satisfy your hungry ears until the DVD of the same show is released late 2007/early 2008." More...
Vocalist/bassist Steve Rowe of the Australian Christian death metallers MORTIFICATION has posted the following message on the band's official web site:
"As it stands today, it looks quite definite that we will tour in the U.S. and Europe in October and November. However, nothing is 100% just yet. Tour costs may push the release of [the] 'Live Humanitarian' [DVD] into early next year. This is why we are presenting the special half-price offer on the reissue DVD.
"The Soundmass digipak re-issue of the '91 self-titled album has now been put forward to early July. However, their re-print of the classic 'gory' cover MORTIFICATION t-shirt is now available at the Soundmass.com store."
Rowe previously stated about the upcoming "Live Humanitarian" DVD. "The audio sounds MASSIVE! It was recorded live at the deluxe but intimate Imax Theatre in Perth, Australia late last year. It is a MORTIFICATION 17-year celebration featuring 24-track digital live recording and a seven-digital-camera shoot. It will be coming out in Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound. This is the first full-length MORTIFICATION show ever to be done this well. 'Live Planetarium' (1993) had only half the show on video (now re-issued and available on DVD) and the full show was only on the CD. This is a huge undertaking but with seven cameras and Surround Sound, it will surpass any past official MORTIFICATION releases."
MORTIFICATION's twelfth studio album, "Brain Cleaner" was released in 2004 through the Rowe Productions label. The follow-up to 2002's "Relentless" was described at the time as "the heaviest project the band has recorded in 10 years" and was said to be "a lot more of a death metal/grind-orientated album but with plenty of power and thrash metal mixed in to keep it interesting and multi-dimensional."
NARNIA have issued the following update through their website (www.narniaworld.com):
“We are very happy to announce that Narnia are going to perform on 20th of November at Revolution Metal Fest 2004, in Mexico City together with MORTIFICATION, SAVIOUR MACHINE and more."
