Latest Invocation Of Nehek News
Below is our complete Invocation Of Nehek news coverage, including columns and articles pertaining to the band. Some articles listed may be indirectly related, such as side projects of the band members, etc.
Note: We began associating news directly with bands in late 2003. Therefore, earlier band news may not be listed on this page.
New York City metallers, We Are the Romans, featuring members of My Bitter End, Invocation of Nehek and Through the Eyes of the Dead, have made their new E.P., "The Prosperity Pandemic," available for streaming on their MySpace page. The E.P. will be available for digital purchase in the coming week.
Currently at home gearing up for the forthcoming Scum of the Earth tour alongside Throwdown, Soilwork, and War of Ages, South Carolina’s THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD have issued an update on the band’s recent line-up change: “We just want to fill everyone in on the current situation with TTEOTD,” guitarist Justin Longshore says. “First off, this band isn’t going anywhere and we are still doing the Throwdown/Soilwork tour as planned. To avoid any complications, we'll just state that Josh [Kulick, drums] and Nate [Johnson, vocals] have both parted ways with the band under their own circumstances. We wish them the best of luck in the future.
“We are excited to announce that Lech, formerly of As Blood Runs Black, will be handling drums for us on the upcoming tour. He's a monster behind the kit and has proven to us to be the right fit for our style. And stepping into the vocal spot is Lou Tanius, who has previously put time in with On Paths of Torment and Invocation of Nehek.”
Continuing to support the band's recent release, 'Malice,' THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD recently completed a U.S. run supporting As I Lay Dying, labelmates All That Remains and Haste The Day. The band has also supported ‘Malice’ alongside The Red Chord, Despised Icon, All Shall Perish, See You Next Tuesday as well as headlined a US run with As Blood Runs Black, Beneath The Massacre and Ion Dissonance. The debut video from "Malice," for "Failure In The Flesh," is available online here, while some in-studio footage is available here.

PRISTINA, the new band featuring former members of 100 DEMONS, A THOUSAND FALLING SKIES, INVOCATION OF NEHEK and DRY KILL LOGIC, has signed a deal with Spare Change Records. The group's debut album, "Boner Jams (The Harpooned Heart)", will be released this spring. Rough mixes of three songs can be found at the band's MySpace page.
Commented vocalist Brendan K. Duff (formerly of 100 DEMONS): "Basically we cannot stand the mediocre hair-and-pants bands that somehow pass for metal or metalcore, or what have you these days. We identify with older greats like BLOODLET, STARKWEATHER, RORSCHACH, TODAY IS THE DAY and DEADGUY. We're definatly not for everyone, but fans of the aforementioned bands finally have an alternative to the garbage that these current bands are forcing down our throats."
"Boner Jams (The Harpooned Heart)" track listing:
01. Lady Baphomet
02. Vicodin Song
03. Fucking Destroyer
04. Trenches And Dogfaces
05. Lilith's Severed Head
07. The Rat.The Pig.The Spider
08. Day Of Days

Guitarist Steve Pinka, bassist Evan Cohen and drummer Eliot Geller, all former members of Invocation of Nehek have teamed up with vocalist Paul Butler to form a new band called Deadly. You can check out some of their early material here.
Invocation Of Nehek has called it quits. The Connecticut group released one album with Prosthetic records. Guitarist Robb Cyr comments:
"Over the last 5 years ION has had so many great experiences, and we have met so many awesome people, and we are truly grateful for all of it, we sadly have come to a point where it was just time to move on. Although this is a sad moment for us, we know that it is best. When this band started it was meant just meant to be something fun to do on weekends, ION exceeded all of our expectations, trust me you don't name a band 'Invocation of Nehek' and expect to get a record deal or tour the country. We are all still great friends, and will support each other in any new projects. Keep your eyes peeled because you certainly haven't seen the last of all us. We'd like to thank everyone that we have met along the way and that has helped us out in some way shape or form. It was an amazing experience that we will never forget."
The band will play one final show on June 10th at the Sons of Italy in Torrington CT with Necrosis and Wrenchintheworks, among others.
Connecticut metal powerhouse, On Paths of Torment, are currently in search of a new singer after vocalist Lou Tanuis recently departed to join Invocation of Nehek. The split was mutual and the band and Lou remain on great terms. This is what On Paths of Torment are searching for:
"We are looking for a highly charismatic and energetic vocalist whose voice is capable of doing justice to all our current recorded material, and whose stage presence demands attention. A strong singing voice and good sense of pitch, while not required, will definitely have a place in some of the new material we are writing. Above all, we're looking for someone with character, a positive attitude, and a strong desire to meet new people and have a good time."
If you think you have what it takes to fulfill these requirements, and live in the Connecticut area or are willing to relocate, please contact the band at firstname.lastname@example.org or through their Myspace site.
Invocation Of Nehek have finally found a replacement for singer Rob Carpenter, who left the band amicably last October to focus on his new family. Joining the band on vocals is Lou Tanuis, formerly of On Paths Of Torment. According to the band, "Lou has a great range and tons of heart. He definitely does the old material justice and is putting some great final touches to the new material."
Meanwhile, the band continues to write material for their next album and will tour the East Coast in April with My Bitter End.

As previously reported, Invocation Of Nehek recently replaced their former drummer who wished to continue his college education with new drummer Eliot Geller.
Invocation of Nehek have issued an update from through their MySpace page:
“Hey everyone, We have a bit of news to announce. As some of you may know, we have parted ways with our drummer Tom. This was a very hard decision to make. We are still great friends with Tom, and love him dearly, as for right now, our paths were going in sepperate directions, Tom respectfully aggreed that for the good of the band, he should focus on his college education and let the band get out there and go as far as it can go. But before i go any further i just want to say that Tom will remain one of our best friends, and we wish him the best of luck with school, and any other music projects he chooses to do. Without him we would not have been able to make it to this point and he invested alot of time, heart, energy and soul into this band. and for this we are forever in debt. we love you man.
"Now looking to future we'd like to announce our new drummer Eliot Geller, from Mahopac NY. Eliot has been a great friend of ours for a couple of years now and has always been a constant source of support. We are really happy to say that he is part of the camp now, as some of you also know Eliot filled in for the last tour we did, and really proved that he has what it takes to do this crazy band stuff. We have already started writing with him and we are really excited to see how future material comes out. he is a solid drummer and and all around great guy. Go give the kid some love, he has worked really hard to get the position and deserves it!
"As for an update, we are currently writing our next record, it will be out next year on Prosthetic again. We have a bunch of northeast dates lined up and a tour in jan in the works, so keep your eyes peeled for that."
