Pitch Black Records is extremely proud to announce the release of a compilation album featuring bands from Cyprus.
The compilation is titled “Bloodbrothers II – A Compilation of Recordings by Rock/Metal Bands From Cyprus," and it celebrates the legacy of the original “Bloodbrothers” compilation, released in 1997 and now considered a hard-to-find, cult classic. “Bloodbrothers II” is available for pre-order here.
Including power, traditional, thrash, death metal, alternative, progressive, and punk rock, “Bloodbrothers II” aims to showcase some of the most talented bands Cyprus currently has to offer. Pitch Black Records comments:
"The title of the compilation refers to the strong ties between members of the Cyprus scene. It may be a small scene but it is (and has always been) one that is very strong, proud and united, full of passion and support for one another. Turning the phrase 'blood brothers' into one word is a deliberate attempt to further emphasize this strong bond that exists between the members of the Cyprus scene.
"Including new and unreleased material from internationally renowned bands (such as 'Fallen Angels and Lost Souls' of scene veterans Armageddon and Arrayan Path’s 'The Bible Bleeds'), cherished classics from the Cyprus underground and the first exciting blasts from a fresh, new generation, 'Bloodbrothers II' runs the gamut from mega-studio-awesomeness to raw garage demo; but the musicianship and passion are evident throughout this compilation!
"'Bloodbrothers II' will only be available on CD, at a special discounted price. It will be released in Cyprus first, on May 28th and worldwide on June 10th. The first 100 ordered from the Pitch Black Records online store will also include the original 'Bloodbrothers' compilation as a bonus disc! More...

Cyprus metal band Astronomikon, featuring Arrayan Path members Nicholas Leptos (vocals) and Paris Lambrou (bass), have signed a world wide deal with Pure Steel Records. The band will release its debut LP "Dark Gorgon Rising" with the label soon. In 2010, a three song demo of the same name was self-issued by the band.
For a taste of Astronomikon, head over to the band's Official website and hear the song "Rocka Rolla Sword" (plays automatically on the site's home page). The band's biography reads:
"Paris Lambrou (bass guitar) initiated Astronomikon with Nicholas Leptos (vocals), in 2008, in Nicosia, Cyprus. They have been bandmates for many years in Arrayan Path and Prodigal Earth, as they both share the same passion for heavy metal. Since long ago, people around the world have associated the heavens, the stars, and the patterns they make in the sky with their gods and heroes. Through the music of ASTRONOMIKON, find out about the myths and legends of different cultures around the world. The band is currently working with producer Evagelos Maranis, Sokratis Leptos (guitars, keyboards) and Stefan Dittrich (drums) on a concept album that is expected to be released in 2012. The story is the myth of Perseus, the first of the mythic heroes of Greek Mythology whose exploits in defeating various archaic monsters provided the founding myths in the cult of the Twelve Olympians. Perseus was the hero who killed Medusa, tamed Pegasus and claimed Andromeda, having rescued her from a sea monster."
