Rex Shachath Posts New Video

Northern Irish death metal band Rex Shachath has released a new lyric video for "Colossus Rise," a track taken from latest opus "Revocation Of The Blood Elect," which was released via French label Great Dane Records last November.

"'Colossus Rise' is the final track on 'Revocation Of The Blood Elect' and was inspired by Hindu deities Shiva and Brahma," vocalist Dave Connolly comments. He goes on to say: "I wanted to tell a story from a creators viewpoint looking at the world today and how everything created can also be destroyed. The underlying message is that humanity is plundering resources above and beyond what can be sustained... and ultimately, unless things change, we may be creating things to benefit life today but it comes at an even greater cost. Creation will be our own demise. Earth will remain as it has done for many, many years, but we are quickly creating mankind's end." More...

Rex Shachath Releases Second Making-Of Video

On the lead up to the release of second EP "Revocation Of The Blood Elect," Northern Irish death metallers Rex Shachath last week released the first of a three part series of studio diaries (still available for viewing here).

Today the band posted the second instalment, a video which takes the viewer behind the scenes and into the studio to track guitars and bass.

With a good dose of tongue in cheek, these clips will show snippets of the band at work in Sonic Forge Studio in Cardiff, Wales, with producer Joe Thompson, tracking the songs of the EP but also the tomfoolery and mischief you often find when five grown men have spent far too long in too small of a place. Rex Shachath Posts Drum Recording Video

With just under one month until the release of the Northern Irish death metal outfit's second record, an EP entitled "Revocation Of The Blood Elect," Rex Shachath will post a series of videos over the coming weeks taking the viewer behind the scenes and into the studio where the recording took place.

This first episode focuses on drum tracking and can be seen below, hile drummer Jay Rogers comments on the process:

"In the beginning it was quite tough. We had planned to travel to the studio the day before recording, get a good nights sleep and start work first thing the next day. We started our journey from our hometown of Belfast and headed two hours south to Dublin to catch a ferry across the Irish Sea to Holyhead, Wales, before driving the length of the country to Cardiff. Rex Shachath Posts New Music Video

Having laid low since the end of 2014, just last month Northern Irish death metallers Rex Shachath suddenly announced their return with a brand new record, which will be out November 20 via French label Great Dane Records.

Entitled "Revocation Of The Blood Elect," this new EP might not be what people are expecting if they're familiar with the band's debut offering "Sepulchral Torment." Since that release the band has had time to coalesce and where "Sepulchral Torment" had more of an old school sound, "Revocation Of The Blood Elect" is an entirely new animal, tackling social issues such as the state of modern society and man's exorbitant desire for wealth at the expense of our natural world.

Now we can unveil the first taste of what to expect from the EP as the band unleashes a brand new music video for the title track. Vocalist Dave Connolly comments:

“This song sees those in positions of power overthrown and put to the sword by man who has endured the oppression of those who would see humanity and the natural world struggle beneath them while they profit from the destruction of man and the earth.” More...

Rex Shachath Releasing New EP

Having laid low since the end of 2014, Northern Irish death metal band Rex Shachath is back for blood with a brand new record, which will be out November 20, 2015 via Great Dane Records.

Entitled "Revocation Of The Blood Elect," this new EP might not be what people are expecting if they're familiar with the band's debut offering "Sepulchral Torment." Since that release the band has had time to coalesce into an entirely new animal.

Tackling social issues such as the state of modern society and man's exorbitant desire for wealth at the expense of our natural world, the band has harnessed a sound more befitting to such issues on this forthcoming record. Old school ideals kneaded with modern death metal notions on a much punchier production is what we have here.

Vocalist and lyricist Dave Connolly sums the record up with a quote from French philosopher Denis Diderot, "Men will never be free until the last king is strangled with the entrails of the last priest." More...
