BATTLELORE keyboardist Maria has issued the following update:

"Battlelore would like to wish you all a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year! We want to thank all our fans, families and friends for the past year and hope you’ll stick around in the future as well ;) Thanks especially to our tour crew of 2007; Tommi 'moshing rasta' Lintunen, Eetu 'jeesusteippi' Keränen, Toni 'camera-buses-special forces SG1' Salminen and Mikko 'these eyes can kill' Järvenpää; our sound hero Tommi Vaittinen and light specialist Kalle Rantala - you guys rock!

So thank you all and enjoy the holidays!

Battlelore Explains Tour Cancellation

Tomi Mykkänen, Battlelore's male vocalist, issued the following explaining the reasons for canceling the December tour with Korpiklaani:

"As many of the venues already listed us as the support for the small upcoming tour with Korpiklaani, it's appropriate to tell you guys here that our part on that tour got canceled. We are VERY sorry about that. It would have been excellent and fucken brilliant to finally tour at least a bit in UK. Not to dismiss Germany or Netherlands in any way, it would have been great to meet all the old friends and possible new ones there too! Also having "a few" beers with KL-guys during the tour would probably have been very pleasant, though hurtful afterwards, experience. Well, what can you do? Maybe next time…

"And to add, the band is not responsible for the cancellation."

Late in November Korpiklaani announced on their myspace page that Battlelore can not accompany them on their December tour.

Here are the dates for Korpiklaani's European tour during December as stated on their myspace page:

14.12.2007 Alte Brauerei, Annaberg Germany
15.12.2007 Illipse, Illingen Germany
16.12.2007 Matrix, Bochum Germany
17.12.2007 maybe in France or other cool country, venue TBA
18.12.2007 Rio's, Leeds United Kingdom '
19.12.2007 Thatched House, Manchester United Kingdom
20.12.2007 Cathouse, Glasgow Scotland

Battlelore Planning U.K. Dates, Discuss New Album

BATTLELORE vocalist Tomi Mykkänen has checked in with the following update:

"Hello all!

First of all, we have been working on the new songs lately and at the moment we actually have some 10 songs in very good 'skeleton-phase'. Looks extremely positive so far. The music is getting a few steps back in our history and a few steps forward to the future. At the moment it seems that there will be bigger, more epic parts in the vein of Sword's Song but also more harder, heavier parts in the vein of Evernight. I'm quite sure that you fans won't be disappointed with this one. The album should be out sometime in June/July/August 2008.

We have some more gigs coming up. For all you cool North Americans I must say that still no good news for you. We would love to come 'over the deep waters' and play for all of you but it's really not up to us. You need to buy more albums and ask from the local organizers for us.... maybe someday then. :)

Finally we have a few more Finnish gigs coming up. Seems that our homeland is finally starting to get our idea. Our first UK gig in a long time is also confirmed to be in late February 2008 in Swansea, Wales. There is a big possibility for more UK gigs this coming December as we've been talking about a small tour around the middle December and that one should have some five or so UK dates. We'll keep you informed.

Ok, I think this is for the news for now. Have fun, have some beer, enjoy the life!"

Green Carnation Announce 3 Gigs In Finland

Green Carnation have announced that they will be playing Finland for the first time in late November. The dates are as follows:

Nov 25 Turku
Nov 26 Jyväskylä
Nov 27 Helsinki

The Norwegians will join up with Finland's own hotshots Battlelore for the gigs, and fellow Finns Deathlike Silence will be the support act on all three concerts.

"I think we will all be up for a blast. We have noticed a big interest in the band from Finland, and we have been planning this for a while now. All the members are happy it's been confirmed now, so we can start looking forward to this," singer Kjetil Nordhus says. "And for me, it's going to be great to meet my friends in Battlelore again. I've lived in the same bus as them for three weeks on a previous tour with Trail of Tears, and we all got along extremely well. So that's going to be a big bonus for me personally!"

Green Carnation are also hopeful to add another gig on the mini-tour, on Monday 28. November, in Tallinn, Estonia. This is not confirmed, though, but check www.greencarnation.no for more news as it happens.
