Sorcery is releasing the "Unholy Creations" 2CD set via Hells Headbangers, with the full track listing available below. The following press release was also issued:
"In the rich and storied history of Swedish death metal, the tale of Sorcery is a unique one. Not only were Sorcery in on the ground floor of the Swedeath boom that began in earnest at the turn of the '90s, their sound predated the simultaneous black metal boom in the greater Scandinavian region. Now, courtesy of Hells Headbangers, that tale can be told across a deluxe two-disc compendium fittingly titled Unholy Creations.
"Originally released as a limited vinyl set, the 2CD Unholy Creations compiles all of Sorcery's demos prior to their cult debut album from 1991, Bloodchilling Tales, as well the proceeding Maculated Life demo from 1992 and rare rehearsal and compilation tracks. For the band's first few demos, recorded during 1987 and 1988, Sorcery unleashed an increasingly frenzied yet darkly melodic form of death metal that also possessed a morbid atmosphere similar to '80s contemporaries Mayhem, Tormentor, and Mortuary Drape, hitting a fever pitch with their classic Unholy Crusade demo in 1989. Their attack remained restless 'n' wild, but a purer, more quintessentially Swedeath sound developed by the time of their debut album, captured here by the rare Maculated Life demo.
"But through it all and until their demise in 1997, the now-reanimated Sorcery stuck to their evil guns and never stopped the madness: relive it again with Unholy Creations!" More...

Infinitum Obscure recently released the three-song MCD, "The Luminous Black" on Deathgasm Records. Featuring one new track, a re-recorded version of "Path to Apocalypse" from the band's 2006 debut "Internal Dark Force" and a blistering take on Bathory's "Through Blood by Thunder," "The Luminous Black" will be unveiling what's to come in Infinitum Obscure's upcoming full length album. The 2nd album of Swedish death metal pioneers Sorcery has been completed and will be coming out on January 15th, 2013! Xtreem Records comments:
"The final result of 'Arrival at Six' has turned out better than anyone could have expected and is definitely a great comeback for this legendary band that started in '85 and delivered a bunch of good demos & EP as well as a classic album in late 80's and early 90's. Mixed by Tomas Skogsberg at Sunlight Studios, 'Arrival at Six' contains 9 slabs of true and pure Swedish death metal. No imitations here... this is the real deal!"
The track listing is as follows:
1. We Who Walk Among the Dead
2. Created From Darkness and Rage
3. Master of the Chains
4. United Satanic Alliance
5. Arrival at Six
7. Maculated Life
8. Beyond the Wall
9. Reborn Through Hate
The cover artwork was made by artist Daniel Devilish and the album will come out both on CD (Jan 15th) and 12"LP (Feb 1st) formats. Check out a new song from the album below. More...
Swedish Death Metal act Sorcery has inked a deal with Xtreem Music for the release of a second full length album. Xtreem Music comments:
"Formed back in 1985 and thus being one of the very first Swedish death metal bands, they released three demos in '87, '88 & '89, a 7"EP in '90 and an already classic album in 1991. The band split up in '97 and reformed in '09, recording two more demos before signing to Xtreem Music.
"Sorcery is currently working on a new album, over 20 years after the band's debut. Still untitled, it's being partly recorded with Tomas Skogsberg at Sunlight Studios, the same studio used in 1991 with 'Bloodchilling Tales.' Seven out of the nine songs on the album are brand new, written with the latest line-up consisting of original members Ola Malmström (vocals), Paul Johansson (guitar) and the two new members, John Falk (drums) and Mikael Carlsson (bass). The other two songs, 'Master of the Chains' and 'Maculated Life' were written during the bands earlier days and will perfectly link the old material with the new.
"Cover artwork for the new album is actually being drawn by renowned artist Daniel Devilish while the recording will be finished around November for an expected release in January 2013 on CD with vinyl version later on. In the meantime you can actually listen two new songs featured on the band's 'Warbringer' pre-production demo 2012 which are being re-recorded for the album with better sound, production and arrangements, will serve to hear what's coming!"
