"Hail to thee united OG forces, the stars have aligned to the right places, the Finnish storms are begging more and more and the universum is waiting for this, so the time has come again for us to wake up from our coffins and switch ourselves to the studio mood, as it's time to breed & record the OG's 5th chapter of metal!
"We've spent countless dark hours an' hours on composing and doing lots of pre-producing an' stuff this time for the new songs and so we're really confident and eager to get these high cultural moments on tape to be heard! It's going to the best music ever written & recorded in the planet errrr....or at least the best OG so far. The key words here are epic, massive, melodic, originality, metal!

Vocalist Jukka Pelkonen of Finland's Omnium Gatherum has issued the following statement about the band signing to Lifeforce Records for the release of a new album:
"Omnium Gatherum is proud to announce signing a new worldwide deal with German Lifeforce Records. The 5th album recordings will begin next week and will take place at Astia studios and Moneyhouse studios with good ol' Teemu Aalto and the album will be mixed and mastered again in Sweden by the almighty Dan Swanö at Unisound studio Örebro. Expect an early 2011 release date!
"After a lot of consideration and negotiating with many parties, we came to a conclusion that Lifeforce is the way to go! They've been showing the right kind of interest in us for some time now, after seeing us live on last European tour, and it seems that they have the same honest attitude towards music and mayhem as we do.
"The material for the 5th OG masterpiece is now almost finished and we're ready and 100% confident to hit the studio in the end of August. This time we've really put a lot of time and effort on the pre-production of the stuff. It's going to be an epic and massive attack of ever flowing stream of Finnish 'melodic death metal,' straight from the souls of black! The album will be out early spring '11 and before that the OG crew will escape from the studio and tour Finland with Dark Tranquillity oct./nov. See you on the road folks!"

"Exit Harri: We're really sorry to announce also that Harri Pikka has silently decided to flee the Omnium Gatherum crew after 13 years of solid service. We don't know his exact reasons for this but maybe someday mr. Mystery Man tells us…
"At the moment we've decided to finish the new album as a 5-piece unit, but we have the best possible live guitar unit called Joonas Koto (Malpractice / Ex-To/Die/For / Ex-Hateframe) filling the second guitar live duties at the moment and it rocks!"

So, we´ll be afraid about what´s coming up with this next chapter - it might even become a good album!? The third new way of acting with this OG record is that the album will be done in three different studios; drums will be done at Sound Supreme studio, other recordings will be done at good ol´ local & loyal SouthEastSounds studio and mixing and mastering will be done in Örebro, Sweden at Unisound studio with the Dan the man Swanö! The actual album recording session will begin next Sunday, at Easter Sunday, what could be more evil metal date to start the studio sessions! It seems that OG will be returning to more melodic approach on this album, back to the glory days, hehe. But no worries, the stuff will still be as heavy as a really heavy thing!" More...
