Canadian melodic death metal band Hammerdrone today releases the title track from forthcoming second album, "Dark Harvest," as a free download - grab your copy at Bandcamp here.
At times crushingly heavy, and at times quietly introspective, the single showcases the band's trademark marriage of intense aggression, melodic subtlety, and headbang-inducing-shout-out-choruses.
Canadian melodic death metal crew Hammerdrone today unveils the artwork for 2nd full-length album, "Dark Harvest."
Completed by Brazilian graphic artist Caio Caldas - best known for his work with U.K. power metal band, Dragonforce - the cover art depicts a sea landing by night of the Dark Harvest Commando, the obscure but real-life terrorist group who threatened the UK government with anthrax attacks in retaliation for the failed clean-up of a former biological weapons testing site in Scotland.
"Caio's execution of the cover art was uncanny," says Graham Harris, the band's vocalist. "I described what I was looking for, and he literally produced what I had previously sketched, but he had never seen! We're really proud to have worked with Caio on this album - he's a genuine talent."
Canadian melodic death metal group Hammerdrone has announced the band's ONLY show of 2015 will take place at Vern's, Calgary on April 25th. Also on the bill will be Frightenstein, Bloated Pig and Astroplague.
Drummer Vinnie Cardellini explains: "Our vocalist, Graham, relocated to Australia at the end of 2014, so this will unfortunately be our only 2015 show. He'll be flying 12,500 km to play this one with us!"
"This isn't the end of the band," added guitarist Curtis Beardy, "We've almost finished writing our second album and we'll be recording that later this year."
