Nettlecarrier Streams New Track

If you feel like you need a serving of pure evil, the new track from Norwegian black metallers Nettlecarrier should fill that craving. Listen to the first single, "The Boiling Blood," from the band's new self-titled release in the player below. The album is due out on 9/25 in North America (9/21 in Norway). You can pre-order the the album exclusively via the Indie Recordings webshop here.

Nettlecarrier consists of T. Ciekals (Djevel, Ljå), Mannevond (Koldbrann, Urgehal), and Dirge Rep (Orcustus, Gehenna, Gorgoroth, Enslaved). The band originally formed in 2004 when, according to T. Ciekals, "I had been in contact with Mannevond and we were both fans of each others bands.” The two had a burning desire to create an older and more sinister sound that was unique to any other black metal band around. Following the addition of the band's former drummer Vold came the first release, a 7" called "To Strangle The Hero Of Heaven."

Despite the title's underground success, Nettlecarrier was put on hold for almost three years. “I left Ljå in 2007 to focus on Djevel and Mannevond was busy with Urgehal, but Nettlecarrier wasn’t dead, just buried for a while," stated T. Ciekals. Following the release of the Djevel album, Ciekals was finally able to focus on Nettlecarrier and in 2010, with addition of the talented drummer Dirge Rep, set out to record a new album. NettleCarrier Signs With Indie Recordings

Indie Recordings has issued the following statement about inking a deal with Oslo-based act NettleCarrier:

"We are proud to announce the signing of NettleCarrier! NettleCarrier is freezing cold, satanic black metal at its best. It’s true, it’s Norwegian. Starring T. Ciekals (Djevel, Ljå), Mannevond (Koldbrann, Urgehal) and Dirge Rep (Orcustus, Gehenna, Gorgoroth, Enslaved), this band has a great future ahead. The 7” vinyl 'To Strangle The Hero Of Heaven,' released in 2007, was an eye opener for the underground scene and NettleCarrier is now finally ready for a full-length album.

"NettleCarrier was formed in 2004 when T. Ciekals, at the time member of the band “Ljå”, moved to Oslo and teamed up with Mannevond from the infamous 'Koldbrann.' They had a burning desire to create a black metal band that did not sound like any other band, but with an older and more sinister sound. In late 2006 Vold joined in on drums for a short while and as a threepiece the pace increased. This resulted in the 7” vinyl 'To Strangle The Hero Of Heaven.'

"When Mannevond started Urgehal and T. Ciekals formed 'Djevel,' NettleCarrier was put on ice for almost three years. After the Djevel album was released, T. Ciekals was finally able to focus on NettleCarrier again. The very talented Dirge Rep joined the band on drums in 2010 and the decision to record an album was taken. Thus 2012 sees the release of a full-length album from this talented trio."
