Hot Cross has opted to re-record their upcoming EVR/The Hope Division debut. States the band, "We have tried everything in our power to get it sounding like it should as an accurate representation of our hard work over the last year, but it's just not happening. Rather than release something that we know can be improved upon, we are going to go back into the studio." Originally recorded by Mike Hill this past spring, the album will now be recorded by former Hot Cross member Josh Jakubowski this fall. The effort is now expected to hit stores on February 20, 2007.
Hot Cross has finished work on their upcoming Equal Vision Records/The Hope Division debut. Work was completed over the course of 150 hours and nine days with producer/engineer Mike Hill (of Anodyne). Titled "Risk Revival," the effort will consists of eleven songs and should hit streets in October. Meanwhile, Hot Cross is currently booking a fall tour with Amanda Woodward.
Hot Cross have released a statement regarding plans for their upcoming Level Plane Records release:
"We are currently holed away writing and re-writing songs for our next full-length. We have booked recording time at Godcity for the last week of April and hope to emerge with a brand new record. A tentative release for the new album is late summer/early fall. A working title for the record is Risk Revival and it looks like it will feature 11 - 12 songs. Once the album drops, we will be hitting the road hard and touring all of the US in support. We hope to log one full US tour in September and then hopefully another full US tour in November to finish off the year."
