Tantara Brings Back Former Guitarist

Following the recent departure of Isak Anakin Rosemarin, Tantara has now issued this announcement about bringing on former member Per Semb:

"Per Semb rejoins Tantara! Three days ago, our lead guitarist, Isak, decided to leave the band. Isak is a great guy and an amazing guitar player, so it was really sad to see him leave. He did some great work on our upcoming album. Because we do like guitar harmonies, we knew we had to find a new lead guitar player.

"We decided to contact one of the founding members, Per. Fortunately for us, Per accepted our invitation, and he is now a full time member of the band again, and he will join us on the rest of the writing and recording of our next album. We are thrilled to have him back of course, and we hope you are too."

Per had this to say: "I'm very happy to be a part of Tantara again, after a 3 year long break. Even though all of us have to focus on stuff like education and work, I will do my very best to participate on finishing the album that has been in progress for a while. I've listened to the material they made during my break, and I must say the guys have matured musically, I'm very proud of them, and it seems like we do have the same vision on how the new album should be and sound like. I'm very excited about this. 2016 will be good year!" More...

Tantara Parts Ways With Guitar Player

Scandinavian outfit Tantara has parted ways with lead guitarist Isak Anakin Rosemarin. The band comments: "Isak, our lead guitar player has decided to leave the band. We are still close friends and we wish him all the best in the future! News about his replacement will be out in the upcoming days."

The man himself had this to say: "Hi, Isak here. There is no easy way to say this, so I'm simply just going to put it out there. My time in Tantara is over. This is something that has been on my mind for a while and it has finally come to a point where I have to be true to myself, as well as the other guys in the band.

"It's been a good one and I'm truly happy with all the times I had with this band. I want to say thank you to everyone who has been supporting this band and will continue to support this band. I'm sure that Tantara will continue as strong as ever. Thank you."

Tantara Splits With Guitarist

Guitarist Per Semb from Tantara has checked in with the following statement about parting ways with the band:

"It's with a heavy heart I'm telling you this, but my time in Tantara is now over. I've decided to leave the band after almost 4 years with lots of fun and memories I will remember for the rest of my life.

"You may wonder why I've decided to do this: I'm no longer motivated for this way of life. The European tour was too much for me both mentally and physically, and it all went up for me that I can't handle something like that again. I've also got other goals and dreams in my life that I want to focus on and try the best to fulfill.

"Don't worry, I'm not giving up music in general. My passion for music is still strong, but the life on the road is simply not for me. I will still continue making music, but it won't be on a such serious level. Feel free to contact me on my official page if you got (musical) questions.

"I want to thank everyone that have supported me and the band, those of you who showed up to our gigs, to all of you that have thrashed, headbanged, moshed... Simply enjoyed our music in a way or another. You guys have been great, and I'm thankful that I was lucky enough to be a part of something this special and unique. That I managed to fulfill my biggest dreams in such young age. I'll never forget it. More...

Tantara Releases In-Studio Footage

Tantara has released a new video from the recording of upcoming album “Based On Evil,” produced by Flemming Rasmussen (Metallica, Blind Guardian, Rainbow) and to be released the 24th of August. Check it out below. You can also listen to the single "Based On Evil" at this location. Indie Recordings commented on the album:

"The plans to make a full-length record began right after the release of the EP 'Human Mutation' in 2010 and the band started the search for the right producer. Tantara entered the studio again in July 2011 to record their long anticipated debut album with the legendary producer Flemming Rasmussen. The band chose Rasmussen because of his background of producing records for bands like Rainbow, Metallica, Blind Guardian and Morbid Angel. The album 'Based On Evil' was recorded during four weeks in July 2011 in the studios ARK Recording Studios and Sweet Silence Mix Suite in Copenhagen, Denmark.

"'Based On Evil' is filled with fast, mind-boggling riffs, aggressive vocals and impeccable drumming. In addition to the melodic and masterly conducted solos one can find progressive elements in Tantara’s music. Their songs might be longer than normal in the genre, but they possess a unique song-writing talent that keep the listener engaged throughout the whole album. Tantara draws inspiration from bands such as Heathen, Anthrax, Exodus, Megadeth, Slayer, Nuclear Assault, Vio-lence and Metallica." More...
