"With this album, we hope to really bring out the best parts of Cognitive's abilities. We really pushed hard to have a coherent, technical, catchy and well written song structure for all the metal heads out there to enjoy.

"From brutal to progressive to melodic, we tried to insure the signature cognitive sound, with new elements to keep things fresh, we want to move forward, but not forget our roots. that along with Tony Koehl's artwork, we hope to create an experience to all the fans out there musically and visually. This CD will crush, and we will be a very busy band this year with a lot of big news on the way.

NYDM veterans Dehumanized will be heading out on an East Coast mini-tour with NJ's Cognitive. The following press release was issued about the trek:

Cognitive Signs With Torture Music

The New Jersey technical death metal outfit Cognitive recently signed to Torture Music Records for the release of an upcoming full-length album, scheduled to hit stores in the latter half of 2013. The label comments:

"Formed in 2011, Cognitive is, despite its young history as a band, already a household name in the underground death metal scene. Having played in 11 states and shared stages with the likes of Macabre, Cattle Decapitation, Waking the Cadaver, and Internal Bleeding, as well as self-released debut EP, 'The Horrid Swarm,' in July 2012, the band shows no signs of slowing down as of winter 2012.

"With their upcoming self-titled full-length, Cognitive will pick up where they left off with 'The Horrid Swarm,' and deliver another release full of unmerciful technicality, pummeling grooves and vicious brutality."

Cognitive also commented, "Thanks to all the fans who have been supporting us this past year! Lets make 2013 even sicker!"
