Boston-based quintet Diecast just shot a video for "Medieval" with acclaimed director Dale Resteghini (Fear Factory, Hatebreed). The track comes off of the band's highly anticipated new album, "Tearing Down Your Blue Skies," set for an October 19th release. Jeremy Wooden (bass) checks in with the following band update:
Diecast just had a very busy weekend. First I'd like to thank Mike Hsu and WAAF for the interview on Harder Faster on Thursday night. On Friday, we shot our first video for our single "Medieval." I'd like to thank Scott Lee for being so cooperative and allowing us to use Fat Cat's if we had needed it. At the last minute we were able to end up shooting the video at Fort Revere in Hull, which was amazing. We were expecting a few cameras and a couple of people for the video. What we got were 4 box trucks full of equipment and a 15 person video crew. Dale and his crew were some of the best people we've ever met. We had camera's on mini railroad tracks, lighting, fog machines, guns, hookers and fire-trucks. For a minute I thought I was playing bass for Britney Spears....it was awesome. I'd like to thank all of our friends we haven't seen in a long time for coming out to be in the video. We even had a surprise guest appearance by the almighty hoods in the video.
On Saturday night we played a hometown show at Club Liquid, which is about a mile from my house. The club took great care of us and the show went well minus the fight that happened and some asshole owes me 150.00 for putting their foot through my bass case. We topped it off on Sunday at WAAF sponsored Locobazooka. Unfortunately, for us and Candiria we went on after Damageplan who closed their set with "Walk" by Pantera. That was a tough act to follow but Candiria ripped it up, brought all the kids running back over and the crowd gave us an amazing reaction. Kids were singing our new stuff all the way to the back of the crowd, which was amazing to us. I'd also like to thank our manager Mike Crowley and his buddy Kevin for helping out all weekend. Last but not least we finally got scrims and a banner, which almost made me cry tears of joy. Thanks everyone for a great weekend and we'll see you soon.
Diecast will also embark on a string of headlining west-coast dates in early November. It has been three years since the band hit this area and these shows are not to be missed.

Boston-based quintet Diecast will shoot a video for the track “Medieval” with acclaimed director Dale Resteghini (Candiria, Fear Factory, Hatebreed) in their hometown area on Friday Sept. 24th. Diecast are inviting all of their fans to attend and if you would like to be a part of the video call (212) 252-2372 and leave your full name and phone number. Someone will get back to you shortly thereafter with all of the details. The track comes off of the band’s highly anticipated new album, "Tearing Down Your Blue Skies," set for an October 19th release.
The album features the addition of new vocalist Paul Stoddard and is easily the group’s most diverse and commanding offering to date. Their progression is sure to please their devoted fanbase and will also provide a wake up call to the unsuspecting masses. Diecast are now determined to prove to the world that they are one of the best of their genre, and they will stop at nothing until that mission is accomplished.

Boston-based quintet DIECAST will release their sophomore full-length album, "Tearing Down Your Blue Skies", in Europe on October 25 through Century Media Records. The follow-up to 2001's "Day Of Reckoning" (Now or Never) "shows the group's progression as musicians and songwriters, while the addition of new vocalist Paul Stoddard adds a whole new feel to the band's dynamic sound," according to an official press release.
Commented bassist Jeremy Wooden:
"I guess the first thing to say is that we're back and better than ever. We have spent almost two years on this material, making sure that every song was as strong and interesting as the next. Our new singer has allowed us to try things that we could never have imagined in the past. We tried to make each song have a different feel and have written some of our heaviest material and also some of our most melodic."
Free MP3 downloads of the new songs "Fire Damage" and "Pendulum" are available at www.bhcdiecast.com.
The Boston-based dynamic metalcore quintet DIECAST have completed the recording process for their new album, "Tearing Down Your Blue Skies", set for a summer release through Century Media Records. This is the group's first effort since their acclaimed debut full-length, "Day of Reckoning", released over three years ago.
Commented bassist Jeremy,
"I guess the first thing to say is that we're back and better than ever. Our absence from playing shows does not mean that we were not writing. In fact it turns out to be quite the opposite. It has given us time to create the most dynamic and talented songs we have ever written. We have spent almost two years on this material and made sure that every song was as strong and interesting as the next. Our new singer, Paul Stoddard, has allowed us to try things that we could never have imagined in the past. His voice is so dynamic he can go from a clean singing part to melodic screaming, all the way to death metal screams in the same song. We tried to make each song have a different feel and have written some of our heaviest material and also some of our most melodic. With our new singer and Century Media behind us I think this record will more than please all our loyal fans we've gained over the years as well as open us up to a whole new audience. We had a chance to play two shows with Paul before we hit the studio and they were completely insane. It was as if we had never taken time off with kids all over the stage singing along and people destroying each other in the pit. We would like to thank all our patient fans for waiting so long and we promise you will not be disappointed. We will be touring nonstop when the record hits so be prepared."
DIECAST will perform at the renowned New England Metal and Hardcore Festival in front of their hometown crowd on Saturday, May 1
The following is the press release on the Century Media Records website:
"The Century Family is proud to announce it’s joining forces with New Jersey-based label Now Or Never Records. This exciting collaboration will result in the Century Family, and its affiliated imprints, handling the manufacturing, marketing, and retail distribution of current and upcoming Now Or Never releases. This includes highly anticipated releases from DIECAST, DEVILINSIDE and THE POSTMAN SYNDROME.
Now Or Never has made a name for itself as more than just a typical hardcore label, but as a diverse operation showcasing a wide spectrum of aggressive styles, featuring acts like DIECAST, THE DILLENGER ESCAPE PLAN, BRAND NEW SIN, DEVILINSIDE, WORTHLESS UNITED, ALL ELSE FAILED and THE POSTMAN SYNDROME. Its artists have landed impressive tours that include SLAYER, MOTORHEAD, HATEBREED and BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, among others, while being backed by a team of dedicated, energetic music lovers with quality distribution to aid in their already imminent impact on the music world. Now Or Never and the Century Family’s emphasis continues to focus on building up their artists in a “classic” artist development sense, a valued ethic that has been lacking throughout much of the music industry. It’s this ideal that has garnered much success with both labels’ diverse rosters and lasting relationships with their bands."
