"Stay tuned, We will post some spoilers."
Earlier in the year, Nervosa parted company with longtime vocalist/bassist Fernanda Lira, as well as drummer Luana Dametto (both now of Crypta, along with former Burning Witches guitarist Sonia Anubis,) leaving guitarist Prika Amaral as the sole member. Shortly after the announcement, Prika Amaral confirmed the new lineup of vocalist Diva Satanica, bassist Mia W. Wallace and drummer Eleni Nota.
Former Nervosa Members Launch New Band Crypta
Former Nervosa frontwoman Fernanda Lira has revealed via a post on her Instagram account that, along with drummer Luana Dametto, who also recently left Nervosa, she has launched a new band named Crypta. Joining the two in the project are Burning Witches guitarist Sonia "Anubis" Nusselder and former Hagbard guitarist Tainá Bergamaschi. The quartet, which was founded in June of last year, are currently working on material for their first release, which they claim will be more death metal focused than their respective better known works.
Nervosa Unveils New Lineup
Brazilian thrash metal outfit Nervosa has announced that, following the departure of vocalist/bassist Fernanda Lira and drummer Luana Dametto, guitarist Prika Amaral has recruited a new vocalist, bassist and drummer to the lineup, making the band a quartet for the first time.
Prika Amaral said:
"It was an incredible experience to meet so many talented women. It was not easy to choose just one and being forced to say “No” to several really good musicians. But the question is beyond musical competence. It involves availability, professional posture, good communication, etc ... But I am very happy with the result and very confident. I already have a lot of new songs saved and we have already started writing (which was one of the tests applied during auditions). We will launch some new material online while the Covid-19 situation is sorted. I guarantee that Nervosa comes with full strength.
"To take care of the singing duties Diva Satanica was chosen, currently she is vocalist of the band Bloodhunter, where they have already made several important presentations including alongside Nervosa. More...

Hear Her Roar: Women In Metal
Today marks International Women's Day, in which we remember the contributions of many great women throughout history as well as in the world today. The day was first celebrated by the Socialist Party Of America on February 28th 1909. The tradition of celebrating women on March 8th was first done in the then newly formed Soviet Union, who declared the day a national holiday. It was adopted by other Communist and Socialist countries as a holiday before the United Nations recognised the event in 1975. Today the significance of the day varies, still being a public holiday in some countries, a day of protest in others and officially ignored in a number of other nations. So, what does all this have to do with heavy metal? Marie Curie, Rosa Luxemburg, Angela Davis and Joan Of Arc may not be common names in the metal world, but we have plenty of our own heroines and ladies to rival the lords.
For a long time, the role of women in heavy metal was seen by outsiders as miniscule or worse, nothing more than objects. Perhaps women have more of a role in metal music than previously thought however. Let's take for example what's considered the first heavy metal album, "Black Sabbath" by Black Sabbath. The cover art depicts a mysterious woman, cloaked in black, stood right in the middle of an illustration of Mapledurham Watermill in Oxfordshire. This is only a tiny example of course, but as heavy metal grew, so did the presence of women. Bands would often sing about women, be it in the context of relationships ("Victim Of Changes" by Judas Priest for example, was comprised of two earlier songs "Whisky Woman" and "Red Light Lady,") sex "Charlotte The Harlot" by Iron Maiden or as inspirations ("Jet City Woman" by Queensryche.)
