More Bands Added To Power Of The Riff Fest

The lineup for this year's installment of The Power Of The Riff West -- confirmed to take place at Los Angeles' Echo/Echoplex on August 11th -- expands yet again, adding six additional bands to the already pulverizing roster. Sunn 0))), Nausea (CA), Despise You, Hoax, Bio-Crisis and Xaphan have all been confirmed to join the party, making for a lineup of twenty-two crushing sets for the day.

The finalized lineup for the all-day The Power Of The Riff West now stands as: SUNN 0))), Off!, Dr. Know, Repulsion, Noothgrusth, Xibalba, Despise You, Eagle Twin, Nausea, Power Trip, Ancestors, Alpha & Omega, Bio-Crisis, Hoax, Gaza, DNF, Retox, The Love Below, Avon Ladies, Cops, Hordes, and Xaphan. "Continuing to bring you a tradition of heavy music from slow drones to aggressive crust ridden darkness, The Power Of The Riff will burn down LA on August 11th, marking the gathering's third annual installment. The Power Of The Riff Fest Details Revealed

This week the return of the annual day-long invasion of Los Angeles has been confirmed via the 2012 installment of the massive The Power Of The Riff Festival. The following press release was issued:

"Continuing to bring you a tradition of heavy music from slow drones to aggressive crust ridden darkness, The Power Of The Riff will burn down LA on August 11th, marking the gathering's third annual installment. The Love Below Announces New Tour Dates

California’s nihilistic hardcore wreckers The Love Below have just locked down a brutal trail of shows this May and June, including an A389 Records showcase in California as well as several performances at this year’s Chaos In Tejas gathering in Texas.

The mayhem begins this Saturday, May 19th, where The Love Below will take part in the first-ever West Coast A389 label showcase in Pomona, California. Not only will the band perform alongside a crushing lineup of A389 brethren including Integrity, Ringworm, Seven Sisters Of Sleep, Young And In The Way and more, but the band’s original drummer Chris Arias will rejoin the lineup for this special show for the first time in over a year.

Less than two weeks after the A389 showcase, The Love Below kicks off a twenty-five date trek across the United States including two raging shows at this year’s installment of the annual Chaos In Tejas throwdown alongside Sham 69, Saint Vitus, Absu, Ringworm, Dropdead, Nasum, Winter, The Mob, and dozens more in Austin, Texas. In celebration of its release, this week the hardcore warriors over at Toxicbreed's Funhouse are hosting a stream of The Lobe Below's debut full-length "Every Tongue Shall Caress," the brutal release having been freshly unleashed last week by A389 Records.

Recorded at Eastland Studios in East Los Angeles and at Gramma's Boy in Fullerton by Dan Bieranowski, The Love Below's introductory full-length "Every Tongue Shall Caress" belts out thirteen high-angst numbers in under twenty-four minutes.
