Origin Announces European Tour Dates
Kansas based death metal group Origin will be heading out on a tour of Europe next month to support their latest release, "Antithesis." No word on who the support act has been released yet.

"We're back from an extremely successful Relapse Contamination tour with MISERY INDEX and ORIGIN! After two blown tires, a new alternator, a major tune up, some trailer light rewiring and massive amounts of liquor consumed, we've made it back alive! More Relapse Records Contamination Tour 2008 Dates
More dates have been announced for the 2008 installment of the Relapse Records Contamination Tour featuring ORIGIN, MISERY INDEX, and ABYSMAL DAWN. The MySpace Metal, Decibel Magazine, Sick Drummer, and XM Radio Liquid Metal sponsored tour kicks off on July 21st in St. Louis, MO.
ORIGIN recently released their new album, "Antithesis," to significant critical acclaim. The band has just returned home from their first-ever European headlining tour and has debuted their first video for Antithesis track "Finite" online via Headbanger's Blog (international / non-US viewers can view the video on YouTube). Grindcore powerhouse MISERY INDEX recently completed work on their new full-length album, "Traitors." "Traitors" will see a September 30th North American release date (October 6th internationally). MISERY INDEX has also released a digital-only EP, "Dead Sam Walking," that features a recent collection of vinyl-only material and live tracks that can be accessed here. Origin Drummer Featured On Cover Of Sick Drummer
ORIGIN drummer John Longstreth will be the featured cover artist on the first cover of the newest digital drumming magazine, Sick Drummer Magazine. Longstreth’s cover feature, which debuts July 1st and can be previewed here, includes an exclusive interview and a full set video focusing on Longstreth’s movements and techniques during a recent live performance. Origin Premieres “Finite” Video
ORIGIN premiered their video for "Finite," the first from their brand new album, "Antithesis," yesterday on Headbanger's Blog, the online forum for MTV's 'Headbanger's Ball' (international / non-US viewers can view the video on YouTube). The "Finite" video will see its televised premiere on today's (May 24) edition of Headbanger's Ball on MTV2.
The video was shot in Brooklyn, NY with director David Brodsky for MyGoodEye. ORIGIN is currently on tour in support of Antithesis, rounding out their U.S. run with labelmates DYING FETUS over the weekend followed by a month-long headlining tour of Europe. ORIGIN will also be performing at a number of festivals while in Europe including Hellfest, Protzen Open Air, Neurotic Death Fest, Death Feast Fest, and more.
ORIGN released "Antithesis" in early April, breaking in at #21 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. Audio samples taken from "Antithesis" can be heard now via the band's official MySpace and this media player.

Obituary Cancel U.S. Tour
Legendary Florida death metallers OBITUARY have issued the following update:
"We regret to inform you for reasons beyond our control we must cancel this May tour. We wanna thank everyone for their hard work and dedication for this tour and we WILL reschedule this for September 2008... Look for updates."
OBITUARY's May tour was scheduled to include DYING FETUS, ORIGIN and THY WILL BE DONE.
A rare OBITUARY track, entitled "Executioner Returns", has been posted on the group's MySpace page. The song originally appeared on the limited-edition digipack version of the Florida-based death metal band's latest CD, "Xecutioner's Return", which came out last year.

As previously reported, Origin have completed work on the follow-up to 2005’s Echoes of Decimation, entitled Antithesis. The album features the line-up of Paul Ryan (guitars/vocals), Jeremy Turner (guitars/vocals), James Lee (vocals), Mike Flores (bass/vocals) and John Longstreth (drums). Antithesis was engineered by Rob Rebeck at Chapman Studios, mastered by Scott Hull at Visceral Sound.
Antithesis is set for release on April 1st in North America and April 7th internationally on Relapse Records, and will feature the following tracks: 'The Aftermath', 'Algorithm', 'Consuming Misery', 'Wrath Of Vishnu', 'Finite', 'The Appalling', 'Void', 'Ubiquitous', 'The Beyond Within' and 'Antithesis'.

Origin To Release 'Antithesis' In April
Kansas-based death metallers ORIGIN have set "Antithesis" (cover artwork) as the title of their new album, due on April 1 via Relapse Records. Central Illinois Metalfest Headliners Announced
BRUTAL TRUTH and ORIGIN have been confirmed as headliners for this year’s Central Illinois Metalfest, being held the weekend of July 18th - 20th in Urbana, IL.
Brutal Truth will headline the festival on Saturday, July 19th, with co-headliners INCANTATION.
Origin will co-headline on Sunday, July 20th, with headliners SUFFOCATION.
Also on the bill for year’s fest are: MONSTROSITY, GOD DETHRONED, PYREXIA, SEVERED SAVIOR, IMPALED, MORTAL DECAY, and more.
Relapse Records will also be among the vendors at this year’s C.I.M.
Brutal Truth are currently writing for a new full-length album and have recently announced their plans for a two week European tour in February. This tour will include stops in the UK, Netherlands, France, Spain and more. A listing of confirmed Brutal Truth tour dates can be found below with more to be announced soon.

Bands Announced For Central Illinois Metalfest
Next year’s Central Illinois Metalfest has been announced and will take place from July 18th to 20th at the Canopy Club in Urbana, IL. Confirmed acts include: ATROCIOUS ABNORMALITY, BRODEQUIN, DEVOURMENT, CONDEMENED, EVISCERATED, GHOUL, GOREALITY, GORTUARY, HUMAN ARTIFACTS, IMPALED, MORTAL DECAY, ORIGIN, PYREXIA, SEVERED SAVIOR, UNCREATION, WAKING THE CADAVER.
Organizers say that there will be 39 bands total. Headliners will be announced in December/January.
Origin Guitarist Jeremy Turner Rejoins The Band
Guitarist Jeremy Turner has rejoined Kansas-based death metallers ORIGIN and will be participating in the writing and recording sessions for the group's next CD. Commented the group in a statement: "We are excited to be jamming with one of the genre's most respected players and are happy that he is back in the band."
ORIGIN's lineup for the upcoming album will be as follows:

The above lineup is the same as the one that recorded the "Informis Infinitis Inhumanitas" disc (2002). ORIGIN's is tentatively planning on entering the studio in early November. An early 2008 release is expected.
The band's third full-length CD, "Echoes of Decomation", was released in March 2005 via Relapse Records.
Brutal Truth Head To Japan
Reunited seminal grindcore / extreme metal outfit BRUTAL TRUTH will head to Japan next week to headline the “Extreme The Dojo Tour V.17.” This tour follows the band’s recent successful U.K. headlining run and will kick off on Monday, March 5th in Osaka, Japan with support from Poland’s VADER.
BRUTAL TRUTH will also be performing a select number of U.S. tour dates as headliners at both the Los Angeles Murderfest and Maryland Deathfest. The LA Murderfest will take place the weekend of March 25th and 26th and also includes ATHEIST, REPULSION, OBITUARY and more. The Maryland Deathfest will occur the weekend of May 26th and 27th and includes appearances from CYNIC, REGURGITATE, ORIGIN, F*CK THE FACTS, and others. BRUTAL TRUTH has recently seen the reissue of their heralded 1997 masterpiece Sounds of the Animal Kingdom. The re-mastered and repackaged version comes complete with the preceding Kill Trend Suicide mini-CD (1996), bonus video footage in the form of the band’s 'Dead Smart' video, extensive and exhaustive liner notes from the band, and a forward from Choosing Death author Albert Mudrian.
Origin To Begin Writing More Material After Tour
Extreme-metal quintet Origin plan to begin writing material for their next album as soon as they've returned from their current European tour with Necrophagist and Misery Index. The jaunt wraps March 14 in Karlsruhe, Germany. Origin guitarist Paul Ryan said the band is "stoked about the material that we have now." He added: "As with all our CDs, we are trying to make the approach different than the last. We want to continue writing stuff that we find challenging as musicians as well as over-the-top in its approach." Expect the album to hit stores late this year.
