Origin Announces New Tour Dates

Iconic death metal outfit Origin will return to Europe for a 31 date tour throughout 15 countries in September and November. Side to side with Aborted, Exhumed and Miasmal, the U.S. metal giants will invade The Old Continent for the first time since 2012's crusade with Suffocation. The band commented:

"Some bands are just made to tour together! This November, Origin has the pleasure of going out with two bands that we have toured with in the past, Aborted and Exhumed. It's always a treat for any band to link up with old friends that they have shared the road with…as long as it was a good time! We have had great times on the road with both bands. Aborted, 2 years ago, and Exhumed wayyyyyy back 14 years ago! All on one bus, one big mess of psychopaths howling at the moon! If the bands are getting along and having a good time, then the shows for the friends and fans are going to be that much more ripping. This tour is going to positively melt faces. I've heard people say 'Hell, I'm over Europe' .....but not me, because this is HELL OVER EUROPE! With Exhumed and Aborted!"

The Hell Over Europe tour will kick off on the 20th of September in Nurnberg, Germany. Detailed tour dates can be found below.

Origin's upcoming 6th album, "Omnipresent," is set to be released on July 4th in Europe via Agonia Records (July 8th in North America via Nuclear Blast). More...

Origin Releases Song From Upcoming Album

The death metal icons in Origin today premiere a brand new song entitled "Manifest Desolate." This is the first track to be revealed from Origin's upcoming 6th album, "Omnipresent," set to be released on July 4th in Europe via Agonia Records (July 8th in North America via Nuclear Blast). Give it a listen below.

Featuring the recording debut of new vocalist Jason Keyser (ex-Skinless), together with drummer John Longstreth (ex-Angelcorpse), guitarist Paul Ryan and bassist Mike Flores, Origin marks a genre-defying return with their 6th full-length release. The band comments:

"Omnipresent is a culmination of 15 years of technical death metal brutality that transcends definition. From light speed to absolute zero, it is a journey to the farthest reaches of the universe, to the darkest nether of the mind."

The cover artwork was created by Colin Marks (Nevermore, Kataklysm, Exodus) and was recorded with long-time producer Robert Rebeck at Chapman Recording Studio (US) and both mixed and mastered together with Colin Marston at Menegroth - The Thousand Caves (Altar of Plagues, Krallice, Jarobe). Origin Unveils "Omnipresent" Art, Track Listing

The death metal masters in Origin will release their new studio album entitled "Omnipresent" on July 4th in Europe via Agonia Records. Cover artwork was crafted by Colin Marks (Nevermore, Kataklysm, Exodus) and can be seen below.

Featuring the recording debut of new vocalist Jason Keyser (ex-Skinless), together with drummer John Longstreth (ex-Angelcorpse), guitarist Paul Ryan, and bassist Mike Flores, Origin marks a genre-defying return with this 6th full-length release. The band comments: "Omnipresent is a culmination of 15 years of technical death metal brutality that transcends definition. From light speed to absolute zero, it is a journey to the farthest reaches of the universe, to the darkest nether of the mind."

Jason Keyser had this to say about the new album cover: "We were very happy to be able to work again with Colin Marks of Rain Song Design for the artwork of 'Omnipresent.' He designed the art for our previous album, 'Entity,' which had a barren, stripped down minimalism, but for 'Omnipresent' we wanted bigger. We were looking for something that would represent the total insignificance and helplessness of humanity to the impending doom of the universe that surrounds us at all times. It's a strong running theme of the album lyrically, how our pride and arrogance can advance us as a species in so many ways, eventually conquering the unknown reaches of space, but ultimately we continue to exist only at the whim of the cold, indiscriminate forces that could snuff our sentient spark at any moment. Origin Signs With Agonia Records

Origin has inked a deal with Agonia Records for the European release of "Omnipresent" this summer. The new album will be available in North American territory via Nuclear Blast Records. More news will follow soon.

The band commented: "Origin is proud to be a part of the Agonia Records family! We feel that this is the strongest move on our quest for total omnipresence, and are excited to share our latest cut of sheer technical brutality throughout Europe and beyond. We are everywhere and nowhere. We are Origin. Hail Space."

Thus far operating as a trio, "Omnipresent" will introduce Jason Keyser (Skinless) as the band’s new vocalist. Commented by John Longstreth (drums): "Origin records albums in a somewhat masochistic, chaotic, and senseless fashion. It’s our best trick, and we need the best guy for our best trick, so that’s why we have Jason. He’s had two years of hard road work with the band and we know he’s the guy. For those that weren’t aware, Origin recorded 'Entity' as a trio without a proper vocalist, so we are very excited to have Jason in to do what a proper vocalist is supposed to do." More...

John Longstreth Issues Gorguts, Origin Update

Origin drummer John Longstreth has checked in with an update on Origin, Gorguts, and his upcoming debut instructional DVD. Longstreth's upcoming DVD was recorded at the Warehouse Studio's in Vancouver BC, Canada. He comments:

'Hey just to give everyone an update on what is going on for me in 2014. Origin has completed the record 'Omnipresent' I am extremely happy with the outcome and can't wait until everyone gets to hear it!

"The DVD is coming along nicely but it will take a few months to complete everything. After it's completion I will be able to start sending out perks to all the contributors. I would like to thank everyone for their support this could not have happened without you. I will keep everyone updated as it progresses.

"I have been getting asked about the Gorguts up and coming dates lately. I will not be joining Gorguts on the up and coming tours.

"Luc Lemay has decided to take out Patrice Hamelin for all dates in 2014. I can't say I am not disappointed but I respect his decision and it allows me to concentrate on Origin, the DVD, other projects and future drum clinics/workshops. I am very happy to say that some Gorguts material will be included on my up and coming DVD."

Luc Lemay also issued the following statement:

"I'm writing today to share with you that we will now have a new drummer sitting behind the kit for Gorguts. Unfortunately, John won't be playing with us anymore.

"When I first asked John, Colin and Kevin to join me to be part of Gorguts, rule number one, for me, has always been that each of their respective bands and solo career would always come first. More...

Origin Finishes Recording Album

Origin has checked in with the following announcement about finishing the recording process for a new album:

"Its official: the Origin 'Omnipresent' sessions are a wrap!!! It was a grueling month, but you can be assured we have produced some of the most intense and diverse Origin material to date (Rest assured 'diverse' does NOT mean clean singing or any soft metal BS)!

"We go from light speed to absolute zero and back on this one. We are everywhere and nowhere. We are Omnipresent.

"Cant wait for you to hear it. And you will. soon."

Origin To Record New Album

Origin is gearing up to record a new album entitled "Omnipresent," and now drummer John Longstreth has issued the following statement online:

"So in a couple of days, we're off to the land of OZ to start working on the 6th Oriring album entitled Omnipresent. Again, we are very lucky to have Nuclear Blast USA on our side to support and release the album.

"We figured it would only make sense to return to Chapman Recording in Lenexa, KS and torture poor Robert Rebeck with our decompositions, until he's able to (at risk of his own sanity) chip away at this mess of music and render it into a cohesive auditory masterpiece! As usual, expect all the classic Origin devices and surprises that drives this band with every new album. Be ready for heaviness; this album is going to crush. More...
