"We're really looking forward to finally hitting the road with them this fall. It'll also be great to hit Canada again, because we always have a great time up north."

A little bit of rain didn’t stop SXSW attendees from once again packing the Dirty Dog Bar down on Sixth Street this Friday. While the Metal Sucks showcase was heavy on tech death bands, the Tone Deaf Touring showcase included down tempo acts The Skull and Weedeater. Before those acts took the stage, though, progressive instrumentalists Stinking Lizaveta opened the show. The Philadelphia, Ohio based band has fifteen years of touring American and European audiences. This longevity showed in the trio’s tightness. Their female drummer played hard sticking tightly to the bassist who played an upright bass. The guitarist adeptly traversed his fret board. They received a good response from the small crowd. Agonia Records just issued the following announcement about inking a new record deal with King Parrot:
"We're pleased to announce the signing of the Australian one-of-a-kind thrash metal / grindcore / punk entity, King Parrot. Hailing from Melbourne, the band released debut album 'Bite Your Head Off' in 2012, which gained high praise for its stand-out musical performance layered with black humour and nowadays rare, yet unique creativity.
"King Parrot's upcoming new album was recorded by Phil Anselmo (Pantera, Down) in Nodferatu’s Lair Studio and is set to land this spring via Agonia Records in Europe, Housecore Records in North America and Rocket/EVP in Australia."
On the new deal, the band commented: "Everyone at King Parrot is excited at the prospect of working with Agonia Records for Europe. We've heard nothing but excellent reports from other acts on their label and believe partnering with them in Europe will see us hit the territory more often. They believe in the band, and with this new album containing our best work to date, we want to spend a lot of time touring in Europe. We are currently undertaking our first Europe tour now, and getting a great response, so when this new album comes out we hope to be here a whole lot more! Bring it on!"

The Australian thrash grind miscreants from King Parrot will return to the stage this March on another North American rash of live devastations.
Slated to embark on March 21st in Austin, Texas, King Parrot will march through two dozen cities supporting bong metal perpetrators, Weedeater, with the passage coming to a close on April 18th in Wilmington, North Carolina. The Metal Injection-sponsored tour follows the band's ten-date run through Europe (also supporting team Weedeater).
Declares the band, "We're honored to be heading out with the legendary Weedeater. We've heard only awesome reports about this great band live, and we can't wait to have our own chapter in the folklore of Dixie Dave and company.
"All the people working behind the scenes on this tour have been excited about pairing our bands for some time, so I'm sure this will be one for the ages! Expect all the crazy shit you would at a high octane punk or metal show, and then times it by ten, as I'm positive both bands will bring their proverbial A game.
"I've heard from people around the country, 'If there's anyone crazier than King Parrot, it's Weedeater.' We'll be out to prove them wrong! We'll also be playing a swag of songs from our new album to be released mid-year, so come get a sample of what we have in store." More...

Australian thrash grind misfits King Parrot will return to the road later this week for a final run of live assaults on North America supporting Down, Orange Goblin, and Bl'ast.
Set to commence November 29th in New Orleans, the band will steamroll its way through nearly two dozen cities, with the final performance taking place December 21st in Houston. Dispatches the band:
"King Parrot is honored to be heading the round with some of our all-time favorite bands and musicians in Down, Orange Goblin and Bl'ast this December in North America. This is our fourth tour of the region this year and it's been an incredible journey for us in 2014.
"To cap it off on this tour, with these bands, is amazing and beyond what we'd ever envisioned when we started out just a few years ago. As an Australian band cracking into the scene over here, the odds are always stacked against you, but we are keen and dedicated to working hard and it's nice to see some rewards coming about.
"We have our new album written and we're looking forward to recording and releasing it in 2015. It's going to be a big step forward for the band and really shows how much work we've been putting in over the last few years. We're hoping that we can continue to tour steadily and build King Parrot into a regular touring band here. We're confident North America will be seeing and hearing plenty more from us in the next year or two, and if you haven't seen us yet, get down early to one of these shows! It's gonna be wild!" With Orange Goblin's "Back From The Abyss" full-length now three weeks away from release, the band has confirmed the first North American tour in support of the record.
Set to begin December 1st and run through December 21st, Orange Goblin will return to the stage touring alongside Down, Bl'ast!, and labelmates King Parrot!
Vocalist Ben Ward comments, "I remember being a spotty 19 year old rushing out to the record store to buy the first Down album NOLA the very day it came out in 1994. Now, twenty years on, I have to pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming that Orange Goblin are heading back to North America as main support to the mighty Down.
"It really is fairytale stuff for us. Down are one of the bands that are the reason Orange Goblin exists. To be given this opportunity to go out to promote our brand new album, Back From The Abyss, to the Down fans is just a dream come true the rest of the band and I can't wait to get started. The fact that we also get to see Bl'ast and King Parrot every night just makes it all so hard to believe! Hail the Leaf! Hail the RIFF! Hail DOWN!"
Recorded earlier this year, "Back From The Abyss" reunites Orange Goblin with producer Jamie Dodd; who served as producer on the band's best selling album in North America to date - 2012's "A Eulogy For The Damned." More...
