Black Oil Recruits New Drummer

Cali based groove metal band Black Oil released the "Resist To Exist" album earlier this year, and now the band has announced the recruitment of new drummer Santi Guardiola (DH Peligro, Thorne, Phenagen). Sliptrick Records comments:

"Santiago Guardiola was born in August of 1984 in Cordoba, Argentina, where he began his drumming career with private lessons at the age of 13. He quickly earned the respect of fellow musicians and jumped into playing with their bands. Throughout high school, he was actively involved with the school band, assuming the drumming position each year before continuing his music studies from 2002- 2005 at La Colmena, also from his hometown of Cordoba. Aside from school, he played in several rock cover bands in gigs throughout his hometown.

"In 2004, he made his debut in the Cosquin Rock Festival with his first touring band Astenia, a punk rock band packing a heavy metal sound, bringing a unique style of music to the likes of Argentina. Together, the band released 2 albums while they continued to be invited to be part of the Cosquin Rock Festival for several years while they continued to tour Argentina and Chile - taking their place several other major rock festivals and opening for international acts such as, Marky Ramone, The Ataris, Suicidal Tendencies, The Misfits and Rage Against the Machine. Black Oil Releasing "Resist To Exist"

Black Oil just signed with with Sliptrick Records for the release of "Resist to Exist," a brand new album due to be released in 2015.

The album will feature Raymond Herrera (Fear Factory, Archaea) drumming on the track "Revolution" as well as special guests Tony Campos (Soulfly, Asesino, Static X), Aaron Rossi (Ministry, Ankla, Prong), Hector Guerra, Zero Elvuh , Ricardo Vignini (Stand Against Everything), and Silverio Pessoa (Combustion). Black Oil Posts Track With Tony Campos Guest Spot

Following the final preparations for the launch of the new album "Resist to Exist," Black Oil has released an advance song for streaming online.

The track "Callate" includes the participation of Tony Campos (Soulfly, Static-x) and Aaron Rossi (Ministry). Check it out below.

The band has announced that this third studio album titled "Exist To Resist” is being co-produced by the group along with Cristian Machado (Ill Nino), Logan Mader (Soulfly, Machine Head, Gojira) and Erik Reichers.

Black Oil To Play Hell And Heaven Fest

Californian/Brazilian metal band Black Oil will have Grammy nominated drummer Aaron Rossi (Ministry, Prong, John 5, Steve Vai, Rob Zombie) alongside as the group takes on the Hell and Heaven Festival once again in Mexico.

Black Oil has become a staple at this festival that boasts headliners this year including Guns N’ Roses, Rob Zombie, Lamb of God, Testament, Deicide and more.

In 2013, Black Oil performed to a sold out crowd at the Hell And Heaven Festival in Guadalajara, Mexico featuring headliners Motorhead and Anthrax.

Black Oil's upcoming release will include a limited edition DVD and songs featuring Aaron Rossi as well as other special guests including Raymond Herrera (Fear Factory, Archaea), Hector Guerra, Tony Campos (Soulfly, Asesino) and a collaboration of producers including Raymond Herrera, Jeremy Blair, Logan Mader and Erik Reichers. Black Oil Announces Live Dates

Californian/Brazilian politically charged metal quartet Black Oil will be performing a few dates in the coming week in support of its second release, 2011's "Not Under My Name." Two of the dates will be in Mexico and another will be in support of Soulfly in San Diego. Check out the dates and venues below, along with a video for the title track of "Not Under My Name" and the second official video from that release, the deforestation song "Amazonia," below.
