Italian death metal horde Antropofagus premieres a new track called "Spawn of Chaos", taken from the band's upcoming third full-length, "M.O.R.T.E. - Methods of Resurrection Through Evisceration", which will arrive in stores on May 12th, 2017 through Comatose Music (CD) and Everlasting Spew (vinyl).
Explains guitarist Francesco Montesanti the changes the band has made concerning writing and recording the album: "We decided to go with a warmer and "fatter" sound this time. Tunes are more straight to your face than the ones in AOL, more groovy, I'd say this is the most old schoolish and evil Antropofagus album to date. Me and Dave Billia (drums) worked hard to make sure this album would've had a deeper, sanguineous sound and I've also went from a 6 to a 7 strings guitar this time."

Antropofagus returns May 12th, 2017 with uncompromising godless ferocity - five years after the "Architecture of Lust" release, this Italian death metal beast strikes again with "Methods of Resurrection Through Evisceration" (M.O.R.T.E.), a journey into life, death, resurrection and the descent into the darkest depths of self.
Guitarist Francesco and Vocalist Tya had this to say about the forthcoming Comatose Music release: "We decided to go with a warmer and fatter tone this time. The songs are more straight forward and in your face than the songs on 'Architecture of Lust', and certainly more groovy. I'd say this is the most old school and evil Antropofagus album to date.
"Dave and I worked hard to make sure this album would have a deeper sanguineous sound, and I also went from a six string to a seven string guitar for this recording. I'd say Morbid Angel and Hate Eternal have been the strongest influences while writing this album, but the Antropofagus trademark is definitely there, so expect pure brutality! Probably our most balanced and mature album so far." More...

Italian death metal band Antropofagus is streaming another new song from its new album "Architecture of Lust," which will see its debut on April 17th on Comatose Music. This will be the band's first new material in a decade. A stream for the new track "Blessing Upon My Redemption" is available by going over to Gun Shy Assassin. The band had the following excerpts to say about its new material:
“This album is like a beast closed in a cage for so much time,” explains guitarist Meatgrinder. “Finally it can be unleashed with its majestic power. The skills of the most modern brutal metal meets perfectly classic death metal: it’s a perfect balance.” “This is upsetting and sick…a trip without return,” warns singer Tya. “We wanted to keep alive our style, but at the same time trying a way a little bit more ‘elegant’ compared to the past.”
After being dormant for nearly ten years, Italian maniacs Antropofagus have awakened. They make their brutal return to the death metal scene with their new full length CD "Architecture Of Lust." The effort will be released on April 17th through Comatose Music, and a teaser trailer can be found here.
“This album is like a beast closed in a cage for so much time. Finally it can be unleashed with its majestic power. The skills of the most modern brutal metal meets perfectly classic death metal: it’s a perfect balance,” says Francesco “Meatgrinder,” Antropofagus’ guitar player.
Lyrics are inspired by the deranged works of Clive Barker and thrive with gore and sickness. This CD is the embodiment of evil and sure to be a top release in 2012. “This is upsetting and sick… a trip without return. We wanted to keep alive our style, but at the same time trying a way a little bit more ‘elegant’ compared to the past. Blood will flow...” adds singer Tya.
Mastermind Francesco “Meatgrinder” and frontman Tya are accompanied on this new Antropofagus journey by bass player Jacopo (Nerve) and Davide "Brutal Dave" Billia (Putridity & Septycal Gorge) on drums. “Francesco and I are lucky to play with these top players. Jacopo studied, arranged and recorded nine songs in just two weeks. He’s a war machine! Davide is fast and powerful,” enthuses Tya.
Musically the band's approach has evolved into a more technical style, yet sustains a classic death metal presence with frantic riffing and supreme drumming. “This album is so great also because of the talent of Jacopo and Davide, two great people and amazing musicians that complement the album and the line-up,” adds Francesco.
