Strikken Releases New Album

Columbus, Ohio melodic prog/metalcore outfit Strikken just dropped new album "According To Purpose," which can be ordered over here.

"According To Purpose" serves as a heavy-hitting follow up to the 2011 full-length, "Long Story Short," which received two award nominations upon its arrival – “Best Metal Album” at the Independent Music Awards and “Best Heavy Metal Album of 2011” at the Columbus Music Awards.

Vocalist Ryan Henry states, “Our style of music has vastly changed between our last album, Long Story Short, and our new album, According to Purpose. At our core we remain the same – determined to deliver great, hard hitting passionate music. However, the music and writing process has matured considerably. This record stems from a far greater spiritual center with focus on the depravity of the world around us, yet with hope and resolution. With Friday here again the Rock Band Network now has new tunes for metalheads to rock out with over the weekend. Xbox 360 players now have these tracks available to purchase:

Amberian Dawn – “Charnel’s Ball” (160 MSP)
Anarchy Club – “A Single Drop of Red (The Gentleman)” (80 MSP)
Emmure – “Protoman” (160 MSP)
Escape the Day – “Turn Back Time (Rock Band Edition) (2x Bass Pedal)” (160 MSP)
Strikken – “Re-Live (2x Bass Pedal)” (80 MSP)

Meanwhile, the PS3 players will have these tracks to look forward to on 12/4 (12/5 in Europe):

It's officially time to start annoying the shit out of your neighbors with drunken 2 A.M. screaming and a whole lotta headbanging, as the Rock Band Network again has a load of new metal tracks for your downloading pleasure. This week, the following tracks have been made available for the Xbox 360 edition:

After several weeks that were sparse on the metal front, the Rock Band Network now has a collection of new headbang friendly tracks available for download. The following tracks are now available for the Xbox 360 version of the game:

The heavy metal additions have been pretty sparse lately on the Rock Band Network, and this week there are only three new tracks coming to the Xbox 360 version of the game. These songs are now available to headbang with over the weekend:

Carnifex - "Until I Feel Nothing" (160 MSP)
Nightrage - "Insidious" (160 MSP)
Strikken - "Forever in Lies (2x Bass Pedal)" (80 MSP)

The PS3 edition is seeing even less metal love, with only the following track hitting the Rock Band Network on March 27th:

More Metal Added To The Rock Band Network

Happy Friday to all you Rock Band fanatics! This week there unfortunately aren't that many new metal tracks hitting the Rock Band Network, with the main track of interest coming from reactivated thrashers Forbidden and music from Otep and Pyschostick also coming to the PS3 version next week.
