The 2013 installment of the The Power Of The Riff festival in Los Angeles is right around the corner, this being the fourth annual occurrence of the massive event. It will take place August 9th & 10th 2013 at The Echo & Echoplex, and the lineup is available below. The following press release was also issued about the fest:
"Curated and organized by Greg Anderson and Sam James Velde, The Power Of The Riff honors fans and musicians of all ages from within all walks and lifestyles under the umbrella of the heavy music underground. Tapping into a lineup that represents forefathers, milestones and current touring acts, while shedding light on up and coming bands and local acts, The Power Of The Riff festival is an all-day, all-ages event. The festival also includes an on-location record swap-meet of local stores and features pop-up stores by independent record labels and vendors, DJ sets between performances, a gourmet food truck court with some of Los Angeles' best purveyors of street food dining, and more.

Extreme music fans rejoice, for there’s a brutal new festival coming to U.S. soil this Fall. Today, details on the debut of the Southwest Terror Fest have been disclosed to the public, the first installment of the now annual meeting of intense acts confirmed to invade Tucson, Arizona in October.
Set to occupy The Rock club on October 19th and 20th, the main/headlining acts for the maiden voyage of Southwest Terror Fest will include 16, Hull, Sons of Tonatiuh, Diseased Reason, Pigeonwing, North, Ladybird, Godhunter, and more. Entrance fee for the event is only $15 per person, for both days, so you can save the rest of your money for merch and booze! The following press release was issued about the festival:
"A fully DIY undertaking booked by musicians, for musicians, the Southwest Terror Fest is a low-priced, two-day event featuring an intense conglomeration of acts; its goal, to draw extreme music fans from all ages from the Southwest US and beyond. The event was conceived and booked by Tucson act Godhunter, with Metalifestyle.com sponsoring the second stage and Earsplit PR sponsoring the main stage. Additional sponsorship support is coming from Zia Records, Sticks n’ Strings Music Center, Acid Reflux Records and Axe Of Contrition. Escapist Records has issued the following announcement about teaming up with Territory for a new vinyl release:
"Escapist Records would like to welcome Tucson, AZ’s Territory to its roster. We are quite excited to be working with the band on the release of a 12” in the coming months.
"Drawing influence from the likes of Ringworm, Obituary, and Buried Alive, in their brief span as a band Territory has played alongside many of today’s brightest in hardcore including Foundation, Xibalba, Harms Way, Alpha & Omega, 50 Lions, and countless others.
