Connecticut outfit Autolatry has checked in with the following update about lineup changes along with a change in sound:
"A substantial update regarding our status has been long overdue, so we thank you for your patience.
"Autolatry is now comprised solely of Dave Kaminsky, Matt Kaminsky, and Sean Hart, the three of which now share all vocal duties. Since the band’s beginning we have labelled ourselves as 'New England Black Metal,' but starting with 2014 that classification will no longer apply.
"While we cherish Autolatry’s earlier stages, our sound is progressing beyond the genre and conceptual limitations of black metal and the New England region. This year we plan to release a split with some of our favorite bands, as well as complete a full-length record over the summer months.
"Autolatry is actively seeking label partnership to help us bring both releases to fruition. All merch at our Storenvy site will be heavily discounted while we try to liquidate the last of our current CD and shirt stock.
"Thank you all for your support during these months of hibernation; we hope to share new music in recordings and live performances very soon!"
Connecticut black metal band Autolatry has checked in with the following announcement about upcoming activity in 2014:
"It may appear based on our social media postings (or lack thereof) that Autolatry is in a state of hibernation. Although we are unable to announce anything major right now, we are working on big things and plan to go public within the next few months.
"To give you an idea, we are finishing new material for a split release, thoroughly in the writing process for the next full-length record, evaluating our band's lineup, building a studio, and planning the next slate of shows/tours.
"We appreciate your patience and we are confident that our next musical output will blow you all away. Thanks for everything y'all; we'll try to post more regular updates on our progress from the point forward." More...
New England black metal band Autolatry has released a music video today for “Colony,” which is the opening track off new album "Native." The band comments:
"With the Colony video we set out to capture the essence of this band. A simple rehearsal-style performance allows our fans to focus solely on the music, musicianship, and passion we exude, without any frills, quick-cutting camera angles, or silly underlying plot and ideology. We are extremely proud of our first music video and director Simeon Kondev did a fantastic job in bringing our vision to life - please enjoy!”

New England black metal band Autolatry has revealed the details of upcoming full-length “Native,” set to be independently released June 18th. The band’s latest effort is a concept album, telling a tale of Native American assimilation at the time of the colonial settling in New England.
Vocalist Karl Chamberlain comments: “This album represents a powerful look into New England’s history as well as our history as a band. For the first time, the whole band was in one room when we wrote the album and the collaboration forced us to step up our game. Autolatry has always had an underlying concept, but 'Native' was created to flow conceptually, lyrically, and musically together. I see this as not just the next step, but an entire new beginning for us.”
The track listing is as follows:
2. Waning Moon
3. Unrest with the Tide
4. Pale Dishonor
5. Setting of the Sun
The album was engineered and mixed by guitarist/songwriter Dave Kaminsky at Morrisound Recording in Tampa, FL and at the band’s home base in Mansfield, CT. Album artwork (available below) was created by Casey Stone-Pirrie. More...
New England black metal act Autolatry has checked in with the following update about recording new material:
"After a kickass show in Jacksonville, we were all eager to get to Dave's apartment down in St. Petersburg. We ended up driving through the night to get there — all 4 hours of it. We got to Dave's place at 6 AM and all melted out of the car into Dave's house. I was fortunate enough to be granted sleeping permission, as my generous band members wanted me to be on my A-game for the recording session the next day. I managed to scrape about 2.5 hours of half-sleep in the car, but kept on waking up because of the thunderous laughter resulting from Karl's jokes. All. Night. Long. (But seriously, he's the funniest man in black metal).
"My plan was to change my drum heads as soon as I got to Dave's place so that I could sleep for as long as possible right up until we had to leave for the studio. Instead, I ended up going right to bed and waking up with another 2 hours of sleep only to rely on coffee and sickly banana flavored energy shots (those shits are disgusting) to carry me through. Everything at the house went relatively smoothly, but as you may imagine, things got pretty hectic running on such little sleep.
"We arrived at Clear Track studios, from Clearwater, FL at about noon and began setting up drums promptly. Dave was engineering the session, and Sean helped out to dial in tones and place mics. We were all pleased with their facilities at the studio but experienced a total of about 1.5 hours of setbacks because the staff at that studio was quite disorganized. More...
