Richmond, Virginia's Iron Reagan released the 24-song wrecking ball "The Tyranny Of Will" earlier this year via Relapse Records.
Today, Iron Reagan brings to you another cinematic masterpiece from "The Tyranny of Will." The video for "I Won't Go" was filmed in the band's state of the art practice space and directed by Steve Krandall of FMB BMX. Check it out below.
After a quick break, Iron Reagan will also return to the road this January alongside Napalm Death, Voivod and Exhumed. The tour starts January 27th in Miami, FL and runs through February 28th in Houston, TX.
Be sure to also check out our recent interview with the band at the Fun Fun Fest over here.
Past Fun Fun Fun Festivals that I covered featured one or two metal headliners on the black stage and one day dominated by punk. This year the third day of the festival included punk but rock in general was the main flavor of the day. Metal was not the style closing out the Black Stage, but headliner Murder City Devils played hard and heavy. There is something about this band that just fits with the festival, as the Seattle-based band made it’s third appearance. The garage rock group played powerful hooks and electric organ that sounded like The Doors making a soundtrack for a Hammer Horror film. I believe this was their first headline performance at FFF. The band was definitely up to it.

Saturday, March 14, the roads seem quiet compared to the previous night. Part of this was due to my moving back to Red River Street and away from Dirty Sixth. Everybody seemed tired, and as a publicist opined to me, Thursday morning's crash on Red River casted bad mojo onto the festivities. Whatever the cause, there was no 1001 person to flood a capacity venue. More...
Friday, March 14, 2014, my third day attending SXSW music festivities, started just after 3 pm. This event was my only excursion outside of live music. Members of Landshark Promotions and DJ Chuck Loesch of 101X "No Control Radio" premiered a CD of the Ronnie James Dio tribute album "This Is Your Life." The three-person panel presented each track from the forthcoming recording featuring an all-star lineup of modern and classic metal artists. It felt good singing along to these majestic reworkings done in the name of charity. 100% of the proceeds will go towards Wendy Dio's "Ronnie James Dio Stand Up And Shout Cancer Fund" .
South By Southwest (SXSW) has successfully kicked off another year of conferences, showcases and events. By now, thousands of badge and wrist band wearers have consumed hundreds of film premieres and attended conferences on the latest innovations in the fields of interactive technology and education. Now it's time to pump up the volume and flip a middle finger at mainstream music as we descend into the festival's music segment. This year reveals a full week of metallic offerings. Check below for a listing of metal themed official showcases (times and card may be subject to change). More...
Relapse Records is extremely proud to announce the signing of Richmond, Virginia hardcore thrash group Iron Reagan.
Consisting of current and former members of Municipal Waste, Cannabis Corpse, Darkest Hour, Mammoth Grinder, Suppression and more, Iron Reagan formed in 2012 and consists of vocalist Tony Foresta, guitarists Phil Hall and Mark Bronzino, bassist Rob Skotis and drummer Ryan Parrish.
Iron Reagan is currently in the midst of recording a sophomore full-length with guitarist Phil Hall at Blaze Of Torment Studios in the band's hometown of Richmond and will be self-producing the record before sending it off to Converge's Kurt Ballou to be mixed. A Fall release is expected.
Tony Foresta comments on the signing and the new tunes brewing: "I've wanted to work with Relapse for years. Their reputation of releasing so much great underground music speaks for itself. We are all extremely excited about signing with Relapse and putting out this rager of an upcoming record. Having Kurt Ballou on board mixing is just the icing on the cake. We are about 75% done tracking the record here with Phil in Richmond and between this and the rad tours we have coming up, it's looking to be a very exciting year. I couldn't think of a better label to put this record out on and am really looking forward to a long future with Relapse."

In celebration of the second edition of Brainsqueeze Fest, the enablers at Oakland-based Tankcrimes Records, in cooperation with Decibel Magazine, offers up a maniacally side-splitting new teaser video. Check it out below.
Elaborates fest founder/Tankcrimes big cheese Scotty Heath, "The reason it took me four years to have a second Brainsqueeze is because we didn't have a new and better idea for a second commercial, the first one was a fucking phenomenon. Then this great idea came along so I booked the gig. Created by the same team as before of Ross Sewage and Mark Reategui who actually work completely separate from each other. They fucking nailed it."
Set to commence April 18th and 19th at the Oakland Metro and April 20th at Eli's Mile High Club, which will include BBQ and an Andrei Bouzikov art show, the gargantuan Brainsqueeze gala features more than a dozen face-raping acts including Municipal Waste, Final Conflict, Ghoul and Negative Approach.
