Colonist Splits With Guitarist

Marlyand's Colonist has issued the following announcement about parting ways with the band's guitarist:

"We'd like to announce that Colonist and guitarist Kolby Kauffman have officially parted ways. Kolby was with the band from it's infantile stages up through the recording of our first CD, but his real passion for music is heavily rooted in singing and he has decided to pursue that with all of his effort.

"We would like to thank Kolby for being a part of this project for the past 2 years and we encourage everyone to keep their eyes peeled for new projects coming from him in the future.

"We will be making announcements about filling his position in the near future, thanks for your support!"

Colonist Issues Recording Update

Maryland's Colonist has checked in with the following update about recording new material:

"Update! Tracking is coming along nicely, drums are done, and the first wave of guitar tracking is halfway done. So far, it's shaping up to be a gem. Like if Courtney Love was a judge for a talent show and had a Xenomorph pop out of her chest on live television. Metal.

"Also, we're extremely stoked to announce we'll be opening for the guys in Eye Empire again on February 4th at The Talking Head (in Sonar). These guys were very welcoming to us last time, and they really got the raw end of the deal playing a Wednesday night. This time it's a Saturday, so let's give them the turn out they deserve.

"We are direct support for them on this show, which means you'll be able to watch our set, then have just enough time to clean up any messes in your pants before Eye Empire initiates another load dropage. Tickets are only $12 for this one, and doors are at 6:30 PM. We're playing with other Baltimore acts Cyrenic, Drift Plan and A Vision Of. Spread the word!"
