Running Wild Posts "Riding The Tide" Teaser Clip
Running Wild posted a teaser clip from the track "Riding the Tide" (heard below), which appears on the comeback album "Shadowmaker." The album is expected for release on April 20, 2012 (EU) and April 24, 2012 (North America) through SPV Records.
In other news, a message was posted by Rock 'N' Rolf Kasparek (shown below), as the Running Wild mainman will conduct three record store appearances in Germany for the release of the "Shadowmaker." The appearances will be as follows:
Friday, April 20, 2012 @ HOT SHOT Records, Hannover (5:30 pm)
Monday, April 23, 2012 @ HOT SHOT Records, Bremen (5:30 pm)
Tuesday, April 24, 2012 @ SATURN, Hamburg (5:30 pm)
In the remaining part of the message, Kasparek indicated that apparently a national socialist website is using the band's "Riding the Storm" song as a theme and that he did not give permission for the use of the song nor is affiliated in any way with the site. Long time Running Wild fans are well aware of Rolf's vehement stance against national socialism. The song "Bad to the Bone" from the 1989 release "Death or Glory" is a testament to that stance.

Running Wild Returns With Comeback Album
Rock 'N' Rolf of German power metal band Running Wild announced that he will resurrect the defunct band. Running Wild played a final show in 2009 at Wacken Open Air and subsequently issued show as a live album and DVD release entitled "The Final Jolly Roger." Rolf announced that the new album, the first studio release since the 2005 album "Rogues En Vogue," will be entitled "Shadowmaker" and will be released in April of 2012 through SPV Records.
The announcement from the band's official website reads:
"RUNNING WILD are back! To the delight of his countless fans, Captain Rock'n'Rolf has announced the release of the new album, 'Shadowmaker', seven years after RUNNING WILDs last studio album, 'Rogues En Vogue'. 'My comments in spring 2009 about the demise of RUNNING WILD were absolutely serious at the time. I really needed time out and, to be honest, couldn't imagine even in January 2011 that I would ever feel like recording a new album again.', says Rolf. 'But when I had the inspiration for a best-of album, to which I wanted to contribute four new numbers, I rediscovered how much I enjoy composing. From then on it was only a small step to record a full new studio album.'
"Rock'n'Rolf has written ten new tracks for 'Shadowmaker'. among them are the midtempo opener 'Piece Of The Action', the uptempo number 'Shadowmaker' (roughly the same pace as "Angel Of Mercy") and the monumental eight-minute track 'Dracula', based on Bram Stoker's novel and the Christopher Lee movies. 'To me, 'Shadowmaker' is a very special album because there was no pressure, timewise or otherwise. I feel it's clearly audible that this relaxed attitude helped me to write one of the strongest RUNNING WILD recordings of all time.'
Rolf also posted a video message to the fans, shown here:
