Saxon Announces North American Support Act

Saxon has checked in with the following announcement about recruiting Borealis as the supporting act for upcoming North American shows:

"For our upcoming North American tour we have Borealis as our main support band. With soaring vocals, lightning fast guitars and a rock solid backline, Borealis is bringing leather back, and dragging power metal up with it.

"It's been that way from the start for these 5 Canadian guys: all or nothing, and it shows in their music. Check them out at this location."

Saxon Changes Venues For Upcoming Shows

Saxon has checked in with the following update about changing venues for two upcoming live shows:

"Gig in South America changed: the show on the 20th from Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) was moved to Barraca Biruta, Fortaleza (Brazil).

"We have now successfully moved the show originally scheduled for Thursday, September 29th in Santa Rosa at The Last Day Saloon to Saturday, October 1, 2011.

"We are looking at another gig, to fill the 29th of September and will let you know ASAP. Watch out for updates."

Saxon Announces New Live Shows

Saxons has checked in with the following statement about the band's upcoming tour dates:

"We have finally got the tour dates for remainder of 2011 scheduled. First we will be putting our attention on America where we've added three more gigs. We are also very pleased to let you all know that our good old mates from Anvil will be our special guests on the continental European dates. Completing the tour package is Crimes Of Passion, who will be opening the shows. For the grand finale we will rock the UK once again where we've got Hammerfall as our special guest."

Saxon Checks In With Tour Recap

Saxon's Biff Byford has checked in with the following recap of recent shows and announcement about upcoming tour dates:

"Just got back from Japan. The shows in Spain with Priest were fantastic. Great audience and good to meet them again and Motörhead. Shows in Tokyo were special. First band there after earthquake so they said great atmosphere and we spent some time at the meet and greet.

"We are announcing further shows soon which will make this tour the longest for many years I think. It will be around 150 days since March all around the world. I am working on setting more charity meet and greets will be talking to the promoters when dates get confirmed. So off for a well earned rest and a curry, next show Poland and then holidays. Saxon Reveals More Release Dates For New Album

Saxon's new album "Call To Arms" has already dropped in Europe, and the album is planned for release on September 27th, 2011 for North America. The band has now issued the following brief update about the release dates for Japan and Brazil:

"Call To Arms will be in stores in Japan on the 25th of July and hit the stores in Brazil and Argentina on the 25th of August. Check out your local dealer or get ready for the download!"

Saxon Adds On Extra U.S. Show

Saxon recently announced both North American and South American tour dates in support of the band's new album "Call to Arms." Saxon has now issued the following announcement about adding on an extra U.S. show:

"We are happy to announce that we are also playing the Club Red in Tempe, AZ on the 5th of October. Further we had to change two dates and this is now the right order of the dates:

Saxon Announces Album's North American Release

Saxon released the new album "Call to Arms" earlier this month in Europe. The band has now checked in with the following brief update about confirming a North American release date for the album:

"Great news! We have a release date for North America & Canada. It will be the 27th of September distributed by EMI. American tour dates to follow soon."

Saxon Donating Money To Charity

Saxon has issued the following announcement about donating money to the Nordoff-Robins charity that was raised during the band's meet & greet events on tour:

"We are very pleased to announce that Nordoff Robbins will be receiving over € 6,000 from Saxon for the charity soundcheck / meet & greet events that were held during the UK & European legs of the Worldwide 'Call To Arms' 2011 tour.

"The band wants to send out a big 'Thanks' to all fans who participated in making this happen and we are all looking forward to continuing with this very special charity around the World wherever it is possible."

Saxon Posts Sweden Rock Festival Footage

Footage has been posted online of Saxon performing the song "Hammer of the Gods" at the Sweden Rock festival, which can be viewed below. The band also commented on the clip:

"Saxon performed at the legendary Sweden Rock Festival last weekend to over 35,000 fans. Biff and the band will be taking a couple of well deserved weeks off before hitting the road again in late June. In the meantime, enjoy this live version of 'Hammer Of The Gods' filmed at Sweden Rock 2011."

Saxon Announces New Album Chart Positions

Saxon Making New Songs Available For Streaming

Saxon has issued the following announcement about streaming songs from the new album "Call to Arms" to fans who use the band's online forum:

"Counting down to the official release date, we will post two songs from 'Call To Arms' per day for all forum users that participate in the discussion. Each song will be available for online streaming for only one hour per day.

"Everyone that participates in the thread will get a personal email from our webmaster with a password to listening station.

"Today's discussion: what time do YOU want to listen to each day's song? Decide with each other and let us know and you will receive your password per email (abusers will be disqualified). Sunday the Call To Arms begins with 'Back in 79' and 'Surviving Against the Odds.' Thanks to all participants."
