Orphalis has checked in with the following announcement about recruiting a new drummer:
"We sadly have to announce you that Kai, our drummer, has to completely step back from making music due to his family situation. We wish him all the best for his future and his family!
"But we are also proud to announce you the joining of Simon Heinen who will take place as our new drummer. Some of you may know him from his older bands Jack Slater or Warfield Within.
"We can't give you any exact dates of our second album or anything like that yet, but we don't have to cancel any of our shows in 2015.
German death metal band Orphalis has posted the following message online about going on hiatus:
"There are kinda sad news on the Orphalis camp: We sadly have to tell you that Orphalis needs to take a little break at the moment - the reason is that Kai, our drummer has some personal and familiar problems, so he doesn't have the time for rehearsing/shows/studio and all that stuff.
"That doesn't mean that he will leave the band or breaks up completely, he just needs a break - we will also keep rehearsing with some midi drums to work on our material for the 2nd album which will be released on Amputated Vein Records.
"So we have to cancel all of this year's shows and we have to postpone the studio dates until next year - sorry for everyone who wanted to catch us live this year on the Show with Misery Index in Cologne, the Metal Frenzy Open Air, or on Berlin Deathfest We promise to keep you updated and we'll come back with the most heaviest stuff you can imagine!"
