Below is our complete Chevelle news coverage, including columns and articles pertaining to the band. Some articles listed may be indirectly related, such as side projects of the band members, etc.

Chevelle, who has been working on a new album for some time, is about to start recording. Here's the update from the band:
"Hey there. Just wanted to let everyone know what is going on in the world of Chevelle. For the last 6 months we have been writing and working on our new record, and finally we are at the recording stage. We are out in Nashville working with Brian Virtue in his personal studio. The weather is great and its an environment conducive to writing and working. We have spent a lot of time making these songs something different from past records, without losing the core of our passion. We are a hard rock, melodic band and its still what drives us as musicians. We have also started to book a tour in the U.S. (Europe coming later in the year) and are working on a package of bands we would like to play with. Who do you want us to tour with?
"We are also going to start posting some photos of us in the studio and maybe even some video if anything looks good. There are lots of ideas and art flying around the offices so look for a new website and myspace designs coming up. Cheers and thanks for checking in."
ROCK ON THE RANGE will return to Columbus, Ohio’s Crew Stadium Saturday, May 16 and Sunday, May 17, 2009. The 2009 line-up for the nationally renowned festival centrally located in the heart of the country will be highlighted by performances from some of rock’s biggest artists including Mötley Crüe, Slipknot, Alice In Chains, Avenged Sevenfold and Korn.
“We try to listen to our fans and they've been saying for years that we should play at Rock On The Range,” said Nikki Sixx of Mötley Crüe.
“We're really excited to play one of America's great rock festivals,” SLIPKNOT’s Corey Taylor says, “Being asked to headline Rock on the Range is an absolute pleasure! Columbus, Ohio has always been very good to us. The line-up looks great; the shows look fantastic. And I personally think it will be an absolute blast for everyone. See you in May!”
Presented by Right Arm Entertainment, AEG LIVE and Crew Stadium, the two-day, multi-stage music and lifestyle event will feature a potent line-up of more than 35 bands. This year’s well-rounded mix of rock’s top artists also includes Shinedown, Buckcherry, The Used, Atreyu, Chevelle, Flyleaf, Saving Abel, Saliva, Blue October, Hoobastank, Black Stone Cherry, and many more.
This marks the third outing for the annual event, which drew 30,000 people in its inaugural year in 2007 and more than 55,000 people in 2008. Event features this year include the addition of a third stage, the Jägermeister Music Stage, on-stage fan platforms--for contest winners--and an expanded vendor village.
In 2009, ROCK ON THE RANGE will also increase their “Go Green” initiative via ROTR “Go Green,” an online portal that allows fans to recycle old cell phones and mp3 players for free tickets and ROTR memorabilia and official festival merchandise. ROTR is the first festival to have an on-line recycling trade-in rewards component. More information can be found at www.rotrgogreen.com.
Tickets for ROCK ON THE RANGE, as well as VIP Packages that include festival tickets, hotel accommodations and festival merchandise, go on sale Saturday, February 21 at 10:00 AM (ET) via www.rockontherange.com and www.ticketmaster.com, all local Ticketmaster outlets and at the Crew Stadium box office. Chevelle bassist Dean is getting ready to lay down bass for a rough draft of the band's new album. His full update goes off on some tangents (to say the least), but is as follows:
"Tomorrow I go to our studio to put down what is now the last of the bass parts for this album's rough draft, and I thought it an appropriate time to let our loyal fans know what is going on. I don't know where you live, but in Chicago right now its pretty snowy and cold, and unless you own a large SUV or a pair of snow shoes you can't go anywhere, which can be a good thing for creativity, or you might be like Sam, who is more likely to build a huge jump and launch every type of motorized vehicle off of it. Whatever the case, cabin fever is not an option. I can always fall back on a game called peg (a primitive form of dodge ball) with my 1-year-old daughter. She's a sucker for the double pump. But unlike most games there's no reward, just good old fashion fun. Maybe some redness around the top of the head (joking) but I think we all enjoy a little something for our efforts for making it through another year. Although it may be a couple of months away, music is our gift to you even if you don't like it. Like the time my grandma gave me a cheese log for Christmas. She knew it was good for me, but I wanted a drum set. Well then, I think I have officially "rambled", but as my daughter says, "dewi dewi". I think it means "whatever" in baby talk, or "I crapped my pants". Either way, it won't be long before we are back to work and doing this thing all over again. So be safe and keep your pimp hand strong."
"And no, I didn't compare this album to a cheese log."
Chevelle has issued the following recording update amidst a recent blog posting. Here's what they had to say:
"Don't fret even though holidays are near we are working hard on new our music and the record is coming along smashingly. We have roughly seven new songs and countless other ideas. One thing you might notice on this record is that there are a few guitar solos, something that's rare for a three piece and rare for us. I've also been focusing on my acoustic guitar again, there's something so intimate about being naked and alone with it. The truth just seems to show it's self."

Tenth Street Entertainment — which represents MÖTLEY CRÜE — has shot down as (at least partially) "blatantly false and completely unfounded" Internet rumors that CRÜE will headline a festival-type tour called "Cruefest", with support from several other artists from the Tenth Street management stable, including BUCKCHERRY, PAPA ROACH, SIXX: A.M. and DROWNING POOL. According to Tenth Street, CRÜE's April 15 press conference/announcement in Los Angeles will relate to "a few" (but presumably not all) of the following artists:
PUDDLE OF MUDD
THEORY OF DEADMAN
THREE DAYS GRACE
BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE
BELLE & SEBASTIAN
3 DOORS DOWN
All four members of CRÜE will be present at the April 15 press conference at a location yet to be determined for what the release hyped as "by far...one of the biggest music announcements of the year!!" The band is also launching a contest in which one grand prize winner from each major city in the country will be flown to Los Angeles to cover the announcement, complete with a chance to interview the band and have the interview broadcast live. Details can be found at the official CRÜE site.

The Pulse of Radio reports that CHEVELLE has announced the first dates for its upcoming tour with Canadian act FINGER ELEVEN. The trek will kick off on February 19th in Flint, Michigan, with shows booked so far through mid-March. CHEVELLE has toured with FINGER ELEVEN before but drummer Sam Loeffler told The Pulse of Radio they're happy to hit the road with them again. "Even though we've done a couple of things together, it kind of worked really well and we all became friends, so yeah, we're gonna go out and do that again," he said. "We're gonna do some Canada stuff, which is good, 'cause we've only done a few Canada dates on this record cycle, so yeah, and then we'll do a bunch of U.S. dates and we'll keep looking at stuff as it comes up for the summer."
CHEVELLE is touring in support of its 2007 album, "Vena Sera", which features current single "I Get It" and the newly issued "The Fad".
The band has also been working on material for its next studio effort. More...

"When we actually get it sort of together, we'll go to our regular rehearsal studio and start to, like, lay down basically what would be demos."
The upcoming tour will also feature FINGER ELEVEN.
"Vena Sera" is CHEVELLE's fourth album and features the current single, "I Get It". The next track to head to rock radio will be "The Fad".

LaunchDaily.com reports: Chevelle's new album, Vena Sera, is the first to feature bassist Dean Bernardini, who replaced Joe Loeffler last year. Joe is the brother of Chevelle singer/guitarist Pete Loeffler and drummer Sam Loeffler, and his exit was not exactly on good terms. Although the band has settled its business issues with Joe, Pete Loeffler told us that their personal relationship is still on the outs: "Awkward is an understatement for the family life now. As far as get-togethers, holidays, nothing's settled there yet. Christmas was pretty weird, to say the least. But that's life. People need to treat people with respect, and if there's respect, then there's always resolution. There's not a lot of that right now, and basically that's the next hurdle."
Chevelle has set April 3rd as the release date for Vena Sera. The CD's first single, "Well Enough Alone," arrived at radio stations on Monday, January 29th.
Sam Loeffler told Harddrive Radio that at least one of the songs on the new album, "Safer Waters," was inspired by the situation with Joe.
New bassist Dean Bernardini is also the Loefflers' brother-in-law, having married their youngest sister Natalie.
Chevelle will hit the road as openers for Evanescence, beginning on March 16th in Fresno, California.
