MetalSucks.net has posted a stream of "Degeneration," the track USDM stalwarts Incantation recorded for Decibel Magazine's Flexi Disc series. Subscribers will get the tune delivered to their front door black-on-blood-red plastic with the year-end issue of Decibel Magazine. Everyone else should haul ass to this location and check it out.
The song's origins date back to '89, when Incantation founder/guitarist/vocalist John McEntee was cutting his teeth with Jersey-based thrashers Revenant. McEntee unearthed and re-energized the tune while Incantation was in the studio recording its newest offering, "Vanquish in Vengeance," which is due out on November 27th on Listenable Records. "Vanquish in Vengeance" was recorded at Mars Studio with Bill Korecky and mixed by Dan Swano at Unisound Studios, with cover art courtesy of Worthless.
U.S. death metal pioneers Incantation have revealed the cover art and track listing for their anticipated new album, "Vanquish in Vengeance." The long-awaited followup to 2006's "Primordial Domination," "Vanquish in Vengeance" carries a recurring lyrical theme that addresses the countless acts of genocide in the name of religion throughout our history. Guitarist/vocalist John McEntee comments:
"The title track is about the massacre of Saxons in the town of Verdun in 782, called on by order of King Charlemagne. As an album title it has a different meaning to me. 'Vanquish in Vengeance' symbolizes the long history of the band. We have fought many battles over the years to keep things going. We have always stayed true to our original vision and have never caved into trends. After a long wait between albums we are back with a vengeance with some of our darkest and heaviest material to date."

Death metal pioneers Incantation have recorded an exclusive track for Decibel Magazine's Flexi Disc series, which is available only to subscribers. For their contribution to Decibel, Incantation founder John McEntee dug into his vault and pulled up the tune "Degeneration," off the self-titled 1989 demo from his pre-Incantation tech-thrash band, Revenant.
Incantation gave the song a proper reworking and the deathed-up, newly-recorded version of the song will appear inside the December 2012 issue of Decibel. Non-subscribers have until 9 a.m. on Wednesday, October 10th to visit Decibel Magazine to sign up in time to receive the disc. Incantation is set to release the follow-up to 2006's "Primordial Decimation," a concept album entitled "Vanquish in Vengeance," this November on Listenable Records.
After a successful trek through Brazil with Immolition New York's Immolation as well as the European summer festival campaign, death metal pioneers Incantation have returned to the United States to finish work on their long-awaited eighth album.
Guitarist/vocalist John McEntee commented on the recent tour: "I would like to thank everyone on behalf of Incantation for making this festival run our most successful to date. To get the opportunity to play for so many diehard death metal fans was absolutely amazing. We are especially thankful to all our supporters for giving us a warm welcome at all the festivals, you guys were amazing and totally raging every day. Most of all we would like to thank Sam Inzerra [Mortician / Funerus] for doing a phenomenal job filling in for Kyle on drums. Without you this run would probably not be able to happen."
Bassist Chuck Sherwood added: "To the hoards of thousands that littered the fests of this past run. Old friends and new, brothers whom we shared a stage, and the unmatched support of the staff of each fest respectively. It's my hope that our performance reflected the metal rage that you gave us, Hails!'
The band has also revealed that their forthcoming release will be a concept album entitled "Vanquish in Vengeance." The album is expected to drop this November via Listenable Records.
McEntee comments on the album: "The title track is about the massacre of Saxons in the town of Verdun in 782, called on by order of King Charlemagne. As an album title it has a different meaning to me. Vanquish in Vengeance symbolizes the long history of the band. We have fought many battles over the years to keep things going. Europe prepares for the return of one of North America's most blasphemous and unholy death metal bands. Incantation will once again invade European territory this August for a series of festival dates. The band comments:
As we are still in the midst of the recording process for our 8th and latest studio full length, which will be released through Listenable Records, we will make the short run to play some of Europe's most brutal festivals. We are honored to have been asked to play these amazing fests this year, we will be playing some new tracks from the upcoming new release later this year, as well as our classics. We just toured Brazil and the response for the new material was horns held high and an outbreak of death metal overload!!!
It has been brought to our attention [that there has been] interest in Incantation playing additional shows/fests in August, but unfortunately were not able to play any more Euro festivals at this time. The aforementioned shows are all we have agreed to play. Of course, we are disappointed at not to be able to play every show asked, but extremely happy to be playing the shows we are. Due to recording obligations and (lack of) booking details, time restraints [will prevent] us from being able to play all of them. I would personally like to apologize to any organizers that might have been misled into thinking we were playing, and thank all of you for the continued support of Incantation!!!!
Below are the European festival dates that Incantation will be playing, a few more dates being arranged as we speak.
8/10 - Brutal Assault (Czech)
8/11 - Party.San (Germany)
8/12 - Ieper Fest (Belgium)
8/13 - Tilburg (Holland) "Little Devil"
8/14 - Essen (Germany) "Turock"
8/17 - Motocultor Fest (France)
8/18 - SummerBreeze (Germany)
Although based in Pennsylvania, Incantation enjoyed a 23 year musical career as one of the leaders the New York death metal scene. Incantation and Listenable Records' working relationship resulted in "Decimate Christendom" and "Primordial Domination" albums respectively released in 2004 and 2006.
The band has now renewed this unholy bond for an upcoming album currently being recorded in June and July for a tentative release date in Winter 2012. John Mc Entee comments: "We are proud to announce that our new album will be released on Listenable Records worldwide. We entered Mars Recording Compound June 8. It's be great to work with Bill Korecky again. Also we are looking forward to having Dan swano do the mixing and mastering it, I'm sure it will sound sick!"
The band also issued the following recording update via Facebook:
"Back in the studio today after some photoshoots this morning... more pics and some celvideos posted shortly! Alex and chuck are knocking out guitar and bass parts... john is overseeing everything while kyle is running around with his pants off in the parking lot... everything is business is usual!"
In what could the ultimate NY death metal package of all time, Incantation is teaming up with its long-time friends Immolation for a series of five dates in Brazil. Guitarist Alexander Bouks and band founder John McEntee (Funerus) commented: "This is going to be some historical shows to be sharing the stage with our longtime brothers in Immolation. We are ready to devastate the Brazilian metal legions with our death metal darkness." John added : "Yes it will be great. It's always a honor to play for them, there are many true death metal Incantation supporters in Brazil."

Members of US death metal pioneers Incantation have issued a number of statements regarding the status of their long-awaited upcoming release and the unfortunate passing of former bass player, Joey "Fingers" Lombard.
On the new album...
"I have known John McEntee for about 23 years now. I am going back to a time when there was only a handful of us that played our dark extreme secret music. Things have changed since then and there is a much larger audience, but the hunger is still there for us to create the darkest extreme songs we can come up with. Incantation is one of the oldest bands who wave that dark sinister flag proudly.
It is awesome after all these years to now be playing and writing together with John on the new material. I am more than confident that the new Incantation record is going to crush your skulls. In my opinion this is one of the band's darkest and most brutal collections of songs to date and it is my my honor and privilege to be working with two of death metal's fineset players in Kyle Severn and Chuck Sherwood. Unleash the blood of the goat!" - Alex BouksMore...
Fan-filmed footage has been posted online of Acheron's Vincent Crowley paying tribute to our fallen metal brother Joey "Fingers" Lombard (ex-Incantation), who passed away earlier this month at the age of 42. The video clip is available below.

Back in 2005, Dimmu Borgir was a band still basking in the unholy success of its latest outing “Death Cult Armageddon.” And yet instead of launching into a new opus for fans to consume the band members decided on a new approach; they would re-release an early and often praised album (“Stormblåst”) by completely re-recording it, updating the sound with modern production and slap “MMV” on the end. There had of course been prior examples of bands making this choice, but it was perhaps here that best truly crystallized the new era of metal re-recordings. No doubt you have heard of similar re-recordings in the same vein, perhaps most recently Gorgoroth’s “Under the Sign of Hell 2011” or Burzum’s “From the Depths of Darkness”? Perhaps not, but that’s what I aim to uncover for you here. More...
Former Incantation bassist Joey "Fingers" Lombard died on January 3, 2012. He was 42 years old. Lombard played with Incantation from 2001-2005 and played on the following releases: "Blasphemy" (2002), "Decimate Christendom" (2004) and "Primordial Domination" (2006).
Former live Incantation bassist Roberto Lizárraga, who immediately stepped in when Lombard departed in 2005, posted the following statement, which the band re-posted on its Facebook Page:
"In 2003, while INCANTATION toured for the "Blasphemy" album, they played in San Diego and in Tijuana. INFINITUM OBSCURE played in the Tijuana gig. In this tour, I met this genuinely GREAT guy by the name of Joey Lombard, who was Incan's bassist at the time (2001-2006).
"In 2005 I was asked to step into INCANTATION as live session bassist, since Joey would not be able to commit for all the touring for the "Decimate Christendom" album, then "Primordial Domination".
"We also toured together in January 2005, I played bass for THE CHASM and he was still in INCANTATION. We shared a tour together. More...
The Summer Breeze festival organizers have issued the following announcement about confirming Amon Amarth as a headliner for the festival's 2012 edition:
"Behind the 24th door of our Advent Calendar there's none other than our favourite vikings AMON AMARTH, who are now confirmed as the second headliner for the 15th SUMMER BREEZE Open Air beside Subway To Sally.
"It's almost incredible the way our Swedish friends have enjoyed a continued rise to the top of the scene. Top-ten chart entries, headliner slots on all major festivals, sold-out tours, enthusiastic fans everywhere – by now Mr Johan Hegg and Co. have become real stars, but they still have their feet firmly planted on the ground, because they haven't forgotten where they started. And that's why they like to return to those places, one of them definitely being SUMMER BREEZE!
"What, it's Christmas already?!? How time flies. Our SUMMER BREEZE Advent Calendar had only just begun, and now it's all over again. We hope we were able to fulfill your wishes and expectations, and perhaps even surprise you with one or two of the confirmed bands.
"Here's a final overview of our Advent Calendar, which has been making you company for the last 24 days: More...

Death metal veterans, Incantation are currently writing new material. The group expect a 2012 release date. Drummer Kyle Severn comments:
"The new material we have been writing with new members Alex (Bouks also of Goreaphobia) and Chuck (Sherwood also of Bloodstorm) is beyond brutal, as these songs have come together they are by far the darkest and most demented Incantation tracks I've been a part of since Diabolical Conquest"
Incantation released its first new song in six years on the "After Party Massacre" CD soundtrack and Limited Edition 7-inch Bloodsplatter Vinyl. Click on the You Tube video below to hear a sample.
A teaser trailer has been posted online for the new movie "After Party Massacre," which will feature music from Incantation and Asphyx. The trailer is available below.
The creators of the movie also issued the following statement:
"Giving a new twist to horror, the Afterparty Massacre, brings metal, blood and gore back to the screen! Written and directed by both Kristoff (of Horrormerch.com) and Kyle Severn (of Incantation and Acheron), the Afterparty Massacre is one killer party with mind-blowing amounts of blood, metal, flesh and a huge death metal/industrial soundtrack from 16Volt, Asphyx, Incantation, Ventana and more!
"The After Party Massacre centers around a mysterious female fan - Scarlett - who attends a live performance by the metal bands Incantation and Soulless. At this show - Scarlett soon found herself thrown into the dark depths of torture and depravity showing what happens when you push - an already damaged mind - too far. During this show Scarlett encounters a forcibly rough fan that had followed her into an empty corner of the venue. During this altercation she has flashbacks of a dark past and it transforms her into a bloodthirsty killer on a mission to kill her attacker plus anyone and everyone else in her way (friend - fan and foe alike) until only a pile of bodies is left within this bloody massacre.
"With Scarlett being as patient and calculating as she is torturous and demented, her killing spree is a precise and bloody massacre to witness. Filled with sex, metal, and an unpredictable killer who uses an arsenal of axes, sex toys, box cutters, and power saws as her tools of torture and dismemberment. The After Party Massacre is a huge blood filled splatterfest that is too brutal to miss!"
