With the release of "Longing For Infection," the impending new full-length from Ohio's favorite misery makers Fistula, now less than a month away, today the band shares a graphic visual accompaniment to "Morgue Attendant."
"I feel that the music of Fistula is at its best when we're at our worst," confides frontman Dan Harrington. "After the whole Northern Aggression/Vermin Prolificus lineup imploded, Corey [Bing] and I were in a tough spot. Corey enlisted long-time friend Buddy Peel and Jeff Sullivan to join on bass and drums respectively, 'Morgue Attendant' was the first song they arranged together. Inspired by a ton of shitty Akron weed and watching Maximum Overdive, the song came together quick. Around this time, this total deviant in Cincinnati had admitted to raping hundreds of corpses over his sixteen-year career in the morgue. Crack binges? Malt liquor? Necrophilia? This guy had to be the subject of a Fistula song." More...
Long-running Ohio volume abusers Fistula will self-release the "Longing For Infection" full-length this summer. The scathing follow-up to the band's 2014 sludge opus, "Vermin Prolificus," was recorded and engineered by Dave Johnson (Midnight, Incantation, Soulless) and features the return of Fistula ounding member Bahb Branca on second guitar.
Set for mass contamination on July 15th, 2016, the first pressing of "Longing For Infection" will be limited to one-thousand copies housed in digipak packaging bathed in the abysmal artwork of Jason Barnett.
Today you can get demoralized with the suffocating sounds of opening psalm, "Too Many Devils And Drugs." Listen in below. The full trackl isting is as follows:
1. Too Many Devils And Drugs
2. Morgue Attendant
3. The Big Turnout
5. Smoke Acid Shoot Pills
6. Loyal To The Foil

This March, the Masonic Temple in Detroit, Michigan will play host to the annual Berserker Music Fest.
Now in its third year, the event - a truly DIY affair founded and organized by Child Bite frontman Shawn Knight and wife Veronica - Berskerer III boasts its most devouring lineups to date with the all-ages three-night/three-stage gala.
Appearances will be made by internationally touring acts like Voivod, Ghoul, Conan, Macabre, Cannabis Corpse and Black Tusk as well as a spattering of new and established Michigan-based artists like Acid Witch, Child Bite, Perversion and Shit Life.
Comments Knight, "It's a fucking blast putting this thing together. Veronica and I pick all of the bands and organize the entire weekend. I handle all of the art and a lot of the promotion side too. It's a metric shit ton of work and it's really stressful, but in the end it's all worth it. We're basically just making something that we wish was already had; a bit of the ol' 'if you build it, they will come.' I spent a lot of time at various metal fests last year, either playing them with Child Bite or simply attending them. It's great to see what works, what doesn't, and just in general let it affect how we plan our next event. This is our biggest lineup yet, and our biggest venue, so I can't wait to see how it all turns out!"
Sponsored by Pabst Blue Ribbon, VGKids, ESP Printing, UHF Records, CJAM 99.1 FM and Woodward Avenue Brewers, Berserker III will take place on March 3rd, 4th, and 5th with a special FREE PreSerker kickoff party slated to take place at Small's (Hamtramck) on Wednesday, March 2nd featuring eight bands on two stages. Roadburn Festival is pleased to kick off the new year with a handful of new confirmations, plus the addition of a fifth stage. Tickets for the 20th edition of the festival are on sale now.
Minsk, Mount Salem, and Worm Ouroboros have been added to the line up at the 013 for Thursday, April 9th. Having previously performed at the 2009 edition of the festival, Minsk return to Roadburn, bringing an atmospheric, meditative ambience, offset by raging thrust. Look out for plenty of canyon-sized riffs, trippy sounding keyboards and enchanting vocals when Mount Salem conjurs a crushing windstorm to blow through Roadburn, whilst Worm Ouroboros will be spinning diaphanous webs of the most delicate chamber doom.
New Orleans heavyweights Goatwhore lead the charge, followed by Germany's Downfall of Gaia, noise-hardcore trio Cortez, and a dual-pronged sludge attack from both Fister and Moloch as the first bands announced for the intimate Cul de Sac venue.
As with the 2014 edition, Roadburn's fifth stage will be at Cul de Sac - a small music café located across from the 013 venue at 48 Heuvel, which is the street lined with bars and restaurants (also affectionately known as “Weirdo Canyon”). Four bands will perform at Cul de Sac on each day of the festival, Thursday - Sunday. Entry to these shows is sure to be in high demand, so attendees are advised to arrive early to secure access.
With regret, the festival's organizers have to announce that Lord Mantis will no longer be performing at Roadburn 2015. The band is unable to make it over to Europe due to personal reasons; as a result the performance at Roadburn and any shows around that will be cancelled. The vacant slot on the line up will be taken by Ohio sludge titans Fistula. More...

In commemoration of the "Northern Aggression" album release, Fistula will take to the streets this week on the Northern Aggression 2012 tour. The melee begins today in Lakewood, Ohio and will roll through Indianapolis, Chicago, Brooklyn and Cambridge, along the way sharing the stage with Vulture, Coffinworm, Black Goat, Cleanteeth (ex/members Goes Cube, Hull), Generation of Vipers (members of US Christmas) and more. Dates are available below. The following press release was issued about the album:
"Cleveland’s long-running sludge kingpins Fistula have just filthified the planet with their latest dose of resin-coated low-end antagonism. One of the most constantly productive bands of the modern sludge scene, Fistula have tortured live audiences abroad and boast a lengthy discography of LPs, EPs, demos, split releases and more since their 1998 inception.
"Recorded in May and June with Eric Braunschweigerat Rogue Mobile Recording in Massachusetts (the vocals were recorded with Big Metal Dave at Broken Back Studios in Cleveland), the band’s latest caustic crusher, Northern Aggression, is out now via PATAC Records. The LP version of the offering is loaded with eight ceaselessly brutal anthems -- including an album-closing cover of The Mentors’ 'Going Through Your Purse' -- while the CD version includes a bonus of Fistula's 2010-released six-song Loser EP, adding an additional 28-minutes to the aural beating. Cleveland Ohio doom/sludge band Fistula is in the studio recording a few different projects. The band is currently in the process of finishing up a split 7" with the group Monkey Priest. The name of the song they will be contributing to it is "Devils Smoke," and the art and layout is being done by Jason Barnett for this Feretro records release. Also, Fistula is writing material and already have four songs done for an album titled "Bad Credit and Dead Friends." Nate Linehan of Anal Cunt fame will be handling the drumming on that release. Around since 1998, Fistula has many splits and full-lengths. The uploaded video below is for the track "Adversary," from it's 2003 release "Idiopathic." Check out more material from Fistula on it's MySpace page. You can also stream new material from the group on it's Facebook bandpage. More...
