Below is our complete Dark Funeral news coverage, including columns and articles pertaining to the band. Some articles listed may be indirectly related, such as side projects of the band members, etc.

After releasing re-issues for "The Secrets of the Black Arts," "Vobiscum Satanas," and "In the Sign..." yesterday in North America, Swedish black metal masters Dark Funeral have now announced the street date for their second batch of re-issues: "Diabolis Interium," "Attera Totus Sanctus," and "Angelus Exuro Pro Eternus."
Due out November 25th in Europe and North America, these new editions have been expanded with previously unseen photos from Lord Ahriman's personal archive, extensive liner notes by Olivier "Zoltar" Badin (Terrorizer / Iron Fist), bonus material, and revamped layouts. See below for each album's track-listing and details. More...
After recently signing to Century Media Records for an upcoming studio album, Dark Funeral is now ready to present a series of re-issues for the band's previous six albums.
Created with the band's close cooperation, the first batch of Dark Funeral re-issues covers the self-titled MCD (plus bonus material), "The Secrets Of The Black Arts" (including the re-mixed/re-mastered 8-track Unisound mix as a bonus), and "Vobiscum Satanas" (including live tracks).
These titles will be released in Europe on September 9th and in North America on November 12th via Century Media Records.
In regards to these upcoming re-issues (plus Dark Funeral's new vocalist search), the band's mastermind, Lord Ahriman (guitar), comments:
"I'm proud to announce that we are finally doing proper re-issues of our classic albums through Century Media. And to really spice things up, I have dug deep into my personal photo archives to come up with some killer photos/flyers, previously mostly unseen by the public eye. These will be the definite versions of our classic albums, especially the nice vinyls! Each album also contains detailed liner notes-- and besides myself, Themgoroth, Dan Swanö & some other old friends that were present at the time I formed the band contributed to this. Unfortunately, I could not finish off these re-issues with Blackmoon, who sadly passed away earlier this year, but he was fully aware of them and for 'In The Sign...' and 'The Secrets...' we at least added a tribute page to commemorate him.
"We've just ended our festival season with a killer show at Germany's Summer Breeze festival. Now, my/our main focus will be to resume writing the next masterpiece, tentatively set for release in 2014. More news to come...
"Dark Funeral is currently looking for a permanent new vocalist - preferable from Scandinavia. Serious applications can be sent to email@example.com!" More...

The organizers of the Bloodstock festival have checked in with the following announcement about confirming more bands for this year's edition:
"Here at Bloodstock HQ we are excited to announce a whole batch of new additions for all three stages. There’s only seven weeks left to the most metal weekend of the year!! Have you got your tickets yet?!
"Opening Friday’s main stage, and fresh off the back of the release of ‘IV’, their first album in ten years, are British post metallers, Earthzone 9. The band are stoked to find their way to Catton Park’s hallowed ground, commenting 'Earthtone 9 have never played Bloodstock, so we could not be more excited! It's one of our only gigs this year, so we are truly going to make the most of it. There may well be some drinking!' You can pick up a free download of their single, ‘Horizon’s End’ at this location.
"On Sunday’s Sophie Lancaster stage, Sacred Mother Tongue get added. Having received huge plaudits for their second album, ‘Out of the Darkness’, and live shows, the Northampton based band are building quite the name for themselves. Check out the video for ‘A Light Will Shine’, here. More...
There’s yet more thrash for Bloodstock with Northern Irish upstarts Gama Bomb landing an opening slot on the Ronnie James Dio mainstage. The band is looking forward to churning up the Catton Park turf, commenting:
“Bloodstock: it’s just like Woodstock, but for heavy metal types, and replacing the love and peace with chips and Carling! And Slayer! Our UK fans have been asking for this for years, and now the dream is real. So pack your tent, back up your arse with bananas and send the word – The G-Bomb are comin’ to Bloodstock!"
The band’s fourth album, "The Terror Tapes," will be released next Monday 22nd April on AFM Records. Check out the new video for "Terrorscope" right here.
British heavy metal standard bearers Beholder also step in to an early mainstage slot on Saturday. Frontman Simon Hall says “For Beholder to actually be asked to do this, without me dropping to my knees and pleading like a bitch is a true acknowledgment of where the band is right now. To be on the best Bloodstock line-up ever is something we’re not going to approach lightly, and on Saturday 10th August, let’s show the rest of the world how true British Metal fans rule all!!”

If Satan needed a house band in Hell, he could certainly call on Morbid Angel. Thanks to his guitar acrobatics, journalists have long dubbed band-founder Trey Azagthoth as the Eddie Van Halen of death metal. When the group emerged in 1989 with their first proper release, few, if any, could match the Mercury-footed speed of Pete Sandoval’s double-bass-blasting feet. The groove, mind-blowing skill and heretical lyrics and imagery landed the group at the top of the extreme metal world. Massive touring cycles transformed the band into one of the most prolific, underground touring acts of the 1990s. Their devilish music found its largest audience opening for Slayer and Pantera in the beginning of the new millennium.
After the Pantera gigs, Morbid Angel largely stayed out of the limelight. An opening stint for Soulfly in 2005 was the only North American tour I recall since Pantera. Assumingly, much of the crowd in attendance at Backstage Live in San Antonio had not seen the group in seven or even twelve years. Many long-time fans bemoaned “Illud Divinium Insanus,” the group’s first album in eight years, as the lowest point of artistry in the group’s near-thirty-year career. In fact, many of these fans felt the album was so poor they wouldn’t even venture out to see the band play, which is such a shame because they missed one of the best extreme metal tours of the year! Swedish black metal legends Dark Funeral and Century Media Records are proud to announce the signing of a worldwide deal for the next 3 albums.
Guitarist and founding member Lord Ahriman comments: "Our bad luck with labels in the past has for sure been very frustrating. So it is with great pleasure to finally be able to turn the page, move on and start a new dark chapter in the Dark Funeral saga, as we join the great Century Media family. Century Media has more than enough proven to be a stable and highly professional label. And we are totally looking forward to this new cooperation, which I'm sure will prove to be very satisfying and successful for both parts. Hail the goat!"
Jens Prueter, Head Of A&R at Century Media Records Europe, comments: "I always respected Dark Funeral for their endurance and integrity. They've gone through some hard times, but never gave up and also never gave in to compromise on their musical and aesthetic vision. Almost 20 years after their formation it's still the same powerhouse of unmerciful black metal and the new line-up is stronger and more focused than in the past. Thanks to Lord Ahriman and the whole band! Looking forward to their 20th anniversary in 2013 with a new album In The Sign Of The Horns!" More...
My fellow cruise ship warriors and I awoke on day 2 to a cloudless sunny sky and blue oceans as far as the eye could see in every direction. With the movement of the boat barely noticable, I went to find my friends - mobile phone communication had been impossible since the previous evening, so if you wanted to find someone, you had to know where they would be. I found them at the buffet, where metalheads in varying stages of wakefulness were ploughing through mountains of eggs, bacon, sausages and pancakes. Tea and coffee were the more popular beverages but the drinks waiters were already getting busy ferrying beers back and forth. More...
Swedish black metal band Dark Funeral postponed its upcoming North American tour with Abigail Williams due to "circumstances and events way beyond" its control. On its official Facebook page, the band stated:
"Dear Fans, friends and supporters of Dark Funeral,
"It is with great regret that we have to inform you today that our North American Tour has to be postponed. Due to circumstances and events way beyond our control, there is no other way but to postpone these dates. And yes, our triumphant return to the United States Of America is definitely not cancelled, but postponed. And we will try to announce the new North American tourdates as soon as possible, so you better stay tuned!
"However, our appearance at the 70.000 Tons Of Metal-Cruise will take place as planned. Hope to see some of you there.
"All tickets for the effected dates are now being refunded: http://www.enterthevault.com/."
Abigail Williams had been set to support Dark Funeral on upcoming North American tour dates, but the band has now issued the following statement about the run being canceled:
"Yes its true, the Dark Funeral tour is cancelled. In light of this we are working on booking our own DIY headlining shows across the US in addition to the week of headlining dates we already have booked.
"So far we have shows in Worcester and Trenton confirmed and we will be posting more as we get them booked. anyone interested in helping out email firstname.lastname@example.org. Be sure to check our dates section for updated dates as they come."
In other Abigail Williams news, the band is currently streaming its upcoming album "Becoming" online here.
The 70,000 Tons of Metal organizers have checked in with the following update about confirming Sapiency and Edguy for the floating festival:
"While 70000TONS OF METAL, The World's Biggest Floating Heavy Metal Festival is steaming at full speed course West through the Mediterranean Sea, they received news from their European Scouting Party. After passing through Frankfurt am Main, where they made friends with some new hopefuls that go by the name of SAPIENCY, they continued further East to the city of Fulda to meet the EDGUY! Having a feeling that there is still more in store for them, the Scouting Party continues moving East...
"Make no mistake, 70000TONS OF METAL is not your grandma's cruise. It's also not one of the cruises that share the ship with normal cruise guests. This is an all heavy metal cruise! Can you imagine that? A whole luxury cruise ship full of metalheads? And since there is no backstage area you will have the opportunity to mingle side-by-side with the artists in this incredibly fan-friendly scenario that has no comparison. It's like everyone has a backstage pass!"
The following 37 out of 40 total bands have been confirmed:
